Welcome to The Board. A land where two Kingdoms, Marble and Obsidian, have been at war for what seems like forever. The two queens, rivalling sisters, are the only ones who know the reason, though.

You didn't hear it from me, but rumor says that the Marble Queen is jealous of her sister, The Obsidian Queen. Suposedly, they were both in love with the same man, and both wanted to rule when their parents passed on. Whoever got married first would be the queen, would rule the land. It was the Obsidian Queen who got married first, to the man they both wanted, the Obsidian King. The Marble Queen was furious, and still wanting the power, gathered toops and declared war. The Obsidian Queen, not wanting to deal wit hthe trouble of war, offered that they share the rule, each sister getting half of the land. The Marble Queen agreed, for the first few years. Though, soon enough, she still hugered for all of the power. The Obsidian Family refused to give up their thrones, and so Marble declared war.

Reading this, you may be thinking this whole thing is very Black And White, so to speak. A distinct line between good and evil. The Marble Queen is some greedy little child who wants to destroy her sister, and the Obsidian Queen just wants peace. That's not all true. Whlie the two twin sisters were growing up, supposedly the Obsidian Queen was the 'favorite', the pampered one, while the Marble Queen was more or less... Not. From this, Obsidian gained a superiority complex, and Marble the craving for attention, for power. So it's basically a game of back and forth. Obsidian wants the power over her sister, Marble wants the acceptance and will do anything to get it.

Which leads to where we are now. After the Winter Solstice meeting of the two Kingdoms, the Obsidian King fell ill. Terribly so. The Obsidian Family believes the sudden illness to be the work of poison. Poison from the Marble Kingdom. Now with the Marble Kingdom suspected of attempted asassination, the war grows deeper, and darker, as all news levels of low are reached.

So now that you now the story, let's get one with how things work here. You're either part of the Marble Kingdom or the Obsidian Kingdom. Their is no neutrality. Neutrality leads to execution. Though that doesn't mean you are obligated to be a soldier. Not true. Here are the ranks, from most powerful to least powerful

Queen Makes all of the big decisions, most powerful person of their Kingdom.
King Not the most powerful, but the most important person of their Kingdom. While the Queen makes all of the general Major decisions, the King does smaller, yet still important jobs like helping the public and hand choosing/placing Knights and Rooks.
Royal Children Exactly what they sound like. The prince(s) and princess(es) of their Kingdom. Runner-ups for the throne, should the current occupants die. (Does not count if they're taken over)
Bishops Despite their usual religious conotation, Bishops are the Grand Advisors for the royals, and assist in major decision making.
Knights The soldiers and warriors who fight in the war. Hand-picked by the King himself, and are completely and utterly loyal to their Kingdom.
Rooks Knights-in-the-making. They are guards and Knights-in-training. Young, usually. Though Guards are usually twenty or older while the kids and teenagers go through training up till that point. Hand-picked by the King himself, as the Knights are.
Pawns Average citizens who don't really do much but support their Kingdom and the economy and the like. Sometimes a Pawn will get lucky and be chosen to train as a Rook and then perhaps a Knight.

Choose your Kingdom wisely, as you can never turn your back on them. May luck be on your side as you fight for your Kingdom, and may your hardwork and loyalty prove that you are worthy for victory!
