The sun rises over Midnight, painting the sky a beautiful combination of reds and oranges. Sunrises, nature's very own masterpiece. From this day on, each day the sun rises, there is one question in Marie Elanessi's mind. Both of her parents have gone, and now she is left in charge of the kingdom that her father had ruled for decades. Her question? Will today be the last day that she rules over Midnight? The very kingdom that her own ancestors built over five centuries ago?
There are many people who believe that the Elanessi family has been in power for far too long and say that it is time for them to either step down willingly, or be forced to. The most outspoken of these people is the Illrin family, but still there are many more. Even so, there are also many people who have loved how the Elanessi family has ruled over the kingdom and sees no reason why anything should change.
