An open world, story-telling style, semi-literate to advanced literate, mature RP guild.
An open world, story-telling style, semi-literate to advanced literate, mature RP guild.
RP will include: Combat, Mystery, Social Situations, Exploration, Magic, Technology, Unique Lore, Customized Maps and Areas, and if your character so chooses, yes, Romance.
We are currently in our recruitment and character building phase now that we have everything set up and ready to go.
We allow a broad diversity of characters and ideas. If you want to be or do something unique, don't be afraid to message the Captain and Vice Captain. We are here to help you make the character you want in the enviroment of the guild.
We will be deciding on a theme for a trial run soon. Because a lot of the characters are from Tenebrae, we may do a feature for them first, however it does not mean you cannot be from another location. There is no current war between the nations as a lot of the plot has to do with private wars. We may do a prelude to the awakening.
If you have any questions regarding anything, please PM myself or xXBatPandaXx for details.
Long ago the planet was lush and fertile, kept in balance by the naturally flowing wells of magic that provide unity to the various worlds in the sphere of domain. Four wells of magic provided the sustenance for the worlds, Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth, the body of the planet and domains of the other worlds. There were four others wells, no less in power but of different nature and almost foreign to the other four. These were the powers of Holy and Unholy along with Arcane and Temporal. These additional wells were the chains that held together different levels of dimensions that housed elemental wells and the worlds they bridged to.
The Creator who designed this world and the others saw that such perfection was inactive, that an element of chaos required the world to grow and develop. The way to create controlled chaos was believed to have a balance of three parts, Body, Mind, and Spirit. However, not even the Creator was a perfect entity for when it split themselves into different sections, their harmony was broken. Corpus, the Body wished to create a species unlike any other already on the planet and so created humans. However, as Corpus was separated from its other forms, the Humans remained incomplete as they were primal and acted on urges only. Memor, the Mind gave them intelligence, allowing them think and reason, however, even still they seemed too mechanical. Finally, Anima, the Spirit provided creativity and imagination, allowing the Humans to seem as diverse and animated.
The gods worked with its people to help shape and develop their civilization. However, over the years, the humans found that they favored one creator over another and started to divide themselves under their ruling. The gods as well, being further and further separated from their unity that once was influenced by their creations. Corpus was the first to start the argument, saying that all the people should be in touch and ruled again by their primal side, stating that it was they that created the Humans first and so that was their nature. Memor was devastated by this, seeing how chaotic the Humans were without a mind. They stated that the Mind should rule over Body and Spirit for that would result in reason and logic. Anima saw this arguing as counterproductive and stated the Spirit should be free for the people to choose and be as they wish without interference.
The gods were the first to do battle, and the Humans followed in their creator’s example. Devastation wrought the paradise world that was created, sundering land and causing a jagged landscape. Each god was equal in strength and it was decided that they would use their factions to war against each other. The wells of magic were being siphoned by the gods to keep their powers active and the balance that was created when they were one started to break and turn to chaos.
Anima was the first to retreat in the war, realizing that the balance they sought was what they were destroying. Finding humans who desired for a balance of Mind, Body, and Spirit, Anima instructed them to seal away the wells of magic so that the war would stop. Anima has used their remaining energy to protect their people, a distraction so that the Heroes could go to each well. A shrine was created around each well by the powers borne by the gods to the Heroes.
When the wells were sealed, the Gods found that they had exhausted their own magic and had solely come to rely on the wells of magic they had created. They retreated to the last font of magic, the most pure source where all other magic came from in the Tower of the Gods. The Heroes traveled here last, being instructed by Anima that all three gods must be sealed away so that balance can return once more. The power of time would seal them away. The Heroes, eight in total would stand before the gods and entrap them by the same powers used to create them, causing the gods to turn to stone. Spiteful as ever though, Corpus would curse the humans to turn into stone statues with symbol encased at their feet, an eternal prophecy to follow: Whoever so places the seals at the feet of the traitors, shall gain the power of the gods.
Thus the legend was born.
In time these events faded and became more and more distant. However, the nations remained distant and never fully returned to harmony like they did so long ago. In their blood, each nation was more pre-inclined to the direction of the gods. People had tried to go to the Tower of the Gods on pilgrimage, though none ever returned. The nations under Anima and Memor saw peace and prosperity between the two, however the nation that was under Corpus remained distant from the others, viewing them as lesser beings and not in-touch with their desires.
Over a thousand years past since the war before changes started to happen in the world, the gods were regaining power. The magic wells had regained energy over time and so the god regained consciousness, however they were still trapped in their prisons. Corpus had ensured that they would awake again and be released with the eight holdings for the seals. However, still weak, the gods couldn’t release themselves. Instead, they would call out to paragons of the ideas they represented, Power, Ambition, and Desire for Corpus, Opportunity, Commerce, and Intelligence for Memor, and Creativity, Imagination, and Balance for Anima. Chaos, Order, and Balance. The prophecy echoed once more, this time with the direction and authority by each of the gods:
“I call to you, my chosen. Place the seals of old at the feet of the Traitors in the Tower, and I will give you the Power of the Gods,” said Corpus.
“I call to you, my chosen. Place the seals of old at the feet of the Judicators in the Tower, and I will give you the Knowledge of the Cosmos,” said Memor.
“I call to you, my chosen. Prevent the chosen of Memor and Corpus from placing the seals of old at the feet of Heroes in the Tower, and I will Transcend your Spirit,” said Anima.
Who are you?
Who will you become?
And who do you fight for?
Summary (The TLDR version):
The people will be the chosen of one of the three gods and have the goal of stealing the seals, (4 major, 4 minor) or preventing the other chosen from stealing the seals. If one group or individual manages to steal all 8 seals and resurrect their god, the god will give them a boon for being resurrected depending on the aspect that god represents. At that point, if a god is resurrected, the powers of the seals are given to the members of the party that released their god. The way to reverse this is to either kill that person, or extract the power into the original seals. Once all the power is returned, you can then seal that god away and bring forth your god. However, finding and getting the seals are no easy task, and only if you find them all, you must go to a place where no one has ever been for hundreds and hundreds of years, the Tower of the Gods. With a few added twists along the way.
Time Period Equivalent: 1750s-1850s
RP Style: Semi-Literate to Advanced Literate with a leaning towards a more mature RP style. An average minimum of 2-4 paragraphs is suggested. We will allow if you have less paragraphs, but we encourage you to be your best.
Other details: While there are primarily humans as a species, we are always open to other possibilities. If you have a reason and can adequately explain why your character appears non-human or has additional powers not listed, we will review it and offer suggestions if it's not feasible. Note: for a few species, there would be a limit as to how many is allowed.
What does it take to join?
If you wish to join, you must answer the following questions:
1) How literate do you consider yourself to be?
2) Where do you see yourself fitting in the guild or what role sounds interesting to you?
3) If Ophena has six bananas, and xXBatPanda has four oranges, and you have five apples, why don't we just make a fruit salad? (Hint: This is a creativity question.)
Please send either myself, Ophena, or xXBatPandaXx a PM with a sample RP of at least 2-4 paragraphs displaying your abilities. If you are copying a post you have already written, please link the source for context. Excessive dialogue will not count.
