The Winter War had come to a stand-still. Aizen, in his determination to defeat Soul Society once and for all and ascend to the King’s dwelling, used the Hougyoku to rise to a new level of power to gain leverage. Overloaded by so much power, that the once perfect orb of destruction shattered in a blinding flash of light, Aizen nowhere to be found and the battlefield seemingly frozen in time.
It has been over 500 years since the Winter War, and Soul Society has been thrown into a state of confusion. Hougyoku shards have started to surface, as well as many that wish to use them for malevolent purposes. With the original Gotei that survived being sustained deep within the labs of 12th Division, the scientists have been working on a way to bring them out of their frozen state to help fight Aizen, who has reappeared after centuries of dormancy- eager for the shards of his once-powerful tool of destruction.
Will the shinigami be able to resurrect the Gotei from their five-century slumber in time to act against Aizen? Will they remember themselves and their powers, or will Soul Society be forced to collect the Hougyoku shards and defeat him themselves?
