After many generations, humanity has warn the planet in which they live on the brink. The old rock could no longer sustain the strain of man. For hundreds of years, scientists have worked on moving the population to a younger, fresher habitat, ever since the tragedy of China. A large hole in the atmosphere opened over the most densely populated country, killing some from direct burning, to the slow pain of radiation poisoning. Those that survived ended up either sterile or to afraid to reproduce. The incident terrified the world and the scientists devoted their entire time to moving. This movement, later called the Great Wonderment, united the world in a way it has never been. Though some countries had no part, a large majority of the powerful countries joined together.

First, teams were sent out to the closest system, and after several years of travel, then several years of construction, the first "Wormhole" was finished. Through this, scientists were able to begin the expansion of humanity through space. Colonies were built on the planet where the construction of space traveling ships began. By this point, science has a better grasp of the travel in space. Though, these ships never land on earth. Instead, they are built in orbit and dock at the space ports. Once docked, people can either rent a shuttle down or take a community shuttle. No ship can ever see the surface of a planet.

As humanity expanded quickly, disorder followed. Many of the countries that aided in the project laid claim on the new frontier and clashes between people soon lead to bloodshed. Fearing out right war, each country was granted their own planets. But as populations grew, the desire for more land spread. As small colonies quarreled, a large organization was preparing to seize the collection of colonized planets. This organization, known as Horizon, had a different approach. Instead of going after to surface, they would gain control of the docks orbiting the planets. Such a take over took time and patience, but everyone was too distracted by the frontier conflicts. While the docks were public facilities, they were slowly taken over by members of the Horizon working their way in and weeding the others out. When people began to notice the chance, it was too late. Once Horizon took control, they began to making changes. The colonies were too weak from their internal fighting to stop Horizon and soon all colonized planets were under Horizon control.

Though there was many rebellions, none were as well known as the Shela's Rebellion, named for the system that held it. This was the largest attack on Horizon in history. Using guerilla warfare, the rebels hoped to push the now military group out of their homes. And soon the little rebellion escalated into full scale war. The fighting lasted ten long years and finally ended in the surrender of the rebels during the end of a battle later known at Tail Ridge. This war was used as an example to the rest of the planets as proof that nothing can fight against Horizon and any attempt would be destroyed quickly. Though the war ended seven years ago, resentment is still strong. Space is a new frontier, life is much like that of frontier days of the America. Those on planets made their living by farming, mining, or building new cities. Those who live on ships make a living by shipping goods, planet tours. smuggling, or even piracy. In the lawless sky, where do you find yourself? Will you let yourself be crushed under the pressure of Horizon or rise above it?
