On the plus side, hormone therapy for FTMs tends to work a whole lot better than for MTFs and starting it early isn't as crucial. What. Jesus, that's a horrible thing to say. Passing or lack of it doesn't have anything to do with actually being transgender. You can be trans your whole life and never make a single move to transition or even try to pass as your preferred gender. People are such jerks about trans issues. Urgh. (Good luck with transitioning, when you decide to, by the way.)

Transphobia is still somehow acceptable, which is infuriating. And of course, the prevalence of transphobia among LGB people is ridiculous. How can people be so short-sighted? FWIW, I met my current partner online, though not through a dating site. It seems to be working out pretty well.

What backlash? Times have changed a lot -- and the sort of people who read webcomics are unlikely, as a whole, to give you trouble over representing LGBT people in your work. Seriously. Don't sweat it. Rabid homophobes are not out to get you or your work. Just do what feels natural for the story.

Why worry about that? If you're putting it online, it will find its audience. For every person who stops reading, there will be many who won't. Don't self-censor like this. You can't control how people react to your work and you shouldn't worry about audience reaction until you've actually got the damn thing done.

Hah, I have a b***h of a time with pronunciation. I still carry a heavy and recognisable Russian accent, nine years on (though it's been tempered with Irish and US and lately German). To be honest, learning German is possibly even harder than learning English. I feel like I have no brainspace left for another language.
