] L rolled over in bed, his eyes shooting open. Yawning, he got up and journeyed downstairs for his morning cup of tea (he was already fully clothed). The kitchen was empty, so he made tea for one and brought a slice of strawberry shortcake. He had just crouched in a chair, his back to the door, when he heard the shuffle of tired footsteps.
