I'm not exactly sure, but I've heard some interesting opinions. For example, while they may tend to be a tad silly at times, they also have a great strength that older generations can't see so well; their sheer optimism and care towards humanity (or at least appreciation) will help make the world a better place.

"You're trying blend in with white people for your own advantage, betraying us," sort of thing. My friend who is half-black half-white said he used to get this from time to time. And hell, I've had a lot of people say I had too much white privilege to identify with my other backgrounds. Not exactly in those words, but that's basically what they meant.

I've done Kempo half my life, and it's all about mastering one's own body; developing one's natural instinct to be proficient with the body as a weapon, whatever the situation. Aikido seems like the other half to this; mastering the opponent's body. It's always annoying how people try to shoehorn mixed folks into one specific category which we might not even particularly identify with. Some things simply are more fluid. What's most annoying is when people think that our natural looks are some kind of political message. I haven't received any of that myself but it's happened to some people I know.

All the terms popping up annoy me as well. Some broader terms are quite useful, but if we're breaking down peoples' entire identities into super-specific labels, it kinda defeats the purpose of being human in the first place.
