There is a lot of hype surrounding The Last Of Us 110 Gaming Discussion 1/23/14 9:29am

You and metal gear negro have spent five pages basically screaming "NO UR ST00PID AND WRONG" at each other because you each dared to have differing opinions on a video game. You're BOTH close-minded little shits.

How come we never see any ranger dwarves? 7 Lord of the Rings 2/28/14 7:38pm

1. Unlike most other high fantasy settings, Rangers in Middle-Earth are very specifically the last members of the Men of the North. There are no Elvish or Dwarvish Rangers for this reason. 2. Either Fili or Kili (not sure which) is depicted using a shortbow in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and in the book all the Dwarves are given bows before entering Mirkwood.

Is it true that they are making another Transfomers movie? 22 Entertainment Discussion 1/21/14 1:40am

I'm honestly not sure which is the worst part of this - that Bay is directing another Transformers film, that Bay is being involved with another movie project at all (seriously, the dude has NEVER been associated with anything that wasn't s**t), or that they decided replacing shitty Shia Lebeouf with the equally shitty Mark Wahlberg was a good idea.

Modern gamers are too spoiled with easy games. 82 Gaming Discussion 1/21/14 5:43pm

I've enjoyed games that basically held my hand all the way through, and I've enjoyed games that kicked my a** all the way through. Really, I don't give a s**t about the game's difficulty as long as I'm still having fun, which is why I generally don't play on difficulties above Medium unless that difficulty level isn't challenging enough. Really, what difficulty level you play on isn't important ...

Why I do and don't like Teen Titans Go. 22 Recycle Bin 2/10/14 10:48am

> implying the voice actors have any control over the show's writing Seriously dude, calm down. It was a joke that referenced the VA's other work; cartoons have been doing that sort of thing for years now. The fact that they just happened to reference her role in a cartoon that's inexplicably popular among male teenagers shouldn't really matter. No need to make such a big deal out of it. H ...

Why I do and don't like Teen Titans Go. 22 Recycle Bin 2/10/14 10:48am

Raven is voiced by the same VA who voices the main character in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It's not forcing anything; it's an intentional reference to one of Tara Strong's other big roles (much like how Batman: The Animated Series had Adam West play an obvious reference to his role as the '60s Batman in one episode). And that clip has actually been the only moment in TTG! I've found ...

The art style looks shitty, and after the horror that is Teen Titans Go! I'm not exactly optimistic about CN trying to reboot their better shows. Really, I'm kind of at the point where everything Cartoon Network has done in recent years, with the exceptions of The Looney Tunes Show and Tom and Jerry Tales (not great, but not bad either) has been met with a resounding "what the ******** is this ...

The fact that you watch Sherlock and The Cancer That Is Killing Geekdom The Big Bang Theory, and don't watch Doctor Who, actually surprises me. Those are generally the three shows that "geeky" girls (both actual geeky girls, and the morons who a hot guy wearing glasses and spouting semi-coherent, vaguely scientific phrases constitutes a "nerd" ) all watch, and along with Sherlock it's actually a d ...

I think you're thinking of multiclassing. Gestalt is a variant ruleset that works differently than multiclassing.

Question regarding gestalt characters. I was told that when you build a gestalt character, you only get the bonus feats from one class, and if the two classes you're building a gestalt of are spellcasters, you only get the spellcasting from one of the classes. I want to confirm this, because both of these seem to contradict everything I've read about gestalt characters (you basically get ALL th ...

Death Magnetic?! 43 Music 1/16/14 1:06am

Lame, non-memorable lyrics, disappointing instrumentation, and terrible sound editing (the album's volume sounds like it's constantly ten decibels louder than it should be, which seems to add an audible distortion to the songs that just makes the whole thing sound bad). The only really outstanding song on the album is "All Nightmare Long"; the rest are pretty forgettable, which coming from a band ...

I wasn't a fan of the album even when I was still a fairly diehard Metallica fan. Nowadays I can only stand three songs off the album.

Lewis Carroll's Alice vs McGee's Alice vs Tim Burton Alice 60 Alice in Wonderland 3/27/14 6:14pm
Rubella_01
McGee's Alice, then Carroll's Alice. I can't really say anything about Burton's Alice, because Johnny Depp in Wonderland put so much focus on the Mad Hatter (a very minor character in the book, albeit a memorable one) that Alice practically became a supporting character.
