Not horses and bricks. I don't mean to be rude, but you've done the same mistake as the person I originally had a problem with and whom you're defending. That is, virtual property theft = normal property theft but you're trying to claim otherwise. Some woman in Japan deleted her husband's Maple Story account after he divorced her. It was worth 3,000 usd. She was arrested, convicted, and sen ...

Why don't you say that to all the people bitching at ME? It's exceedingly irritating when somebody adopts a teacher's pedantic classroom manner to tell you that the blue sky is neon green. There are sites like PayPal that hinge the safety of hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the user's password. Amazon allows you to order a 3000 dollar computer if you know the password to your accoun ...

Stopped reading right there. You're talking like you "know" Gaia better than me and the other people here. If the password is not enough to access your own account, then why is literally every major aspect of this site linked to your password and nothing else? With your password you can make very serious decisions, such as sell all your items for 1 gold each. You can gift an Angelic Halo ...

A lot of people, especially oldbies, get bored with the site, leave for a while, come back, leave for a while, come back, etc. With something like this, those are the users that are heavily affected. As I've stated at least 3 times, before this feature, most account info was not very important and it was a given that your password needed to be kept safe, but if kept safe would allow you int ...

You sound like one of those Gaia white knights that defends any bullshit they come up with. I would think the site has beaten it out of you people by now. This feature is not about any of the stuff that you're talking about. It's to give a person that's been gone a long time access to his account and no one else. That's the STATED purpose. If it actually serves more to KEEP PEOPLE FROM THEI ...

I would have if they actually told me they made this rule. I would think for that they'd send an email to everybody with an account. Guess that was too much to expect.

You're talking about "formal" websites that are "srs business." This is a game. I don't know what they "expect" of us now, though you being in SF you probably care about that less than I do. But for most of this site's history, they wanted no one under 13 and for you not to share your password. There's a billion use for mules, and no reason to have a system that lifts them off you.

We're going in circles here. We have already been over the point that it's not up to you, who created a mule, to decide what other people do with their mules. Nor is it up to you to decide how much time passes before the mule gets used. Artess, which is my second main account, was registered in 2006 and kept on ice since I would say mid 2007 or 2008. That name was kept with the same identic ...

I am just not sure why you're defending this "feature" at all. Its stated purpose is to reunite legitimate owners with their old accounts and to prevent hacking. The response time is dismal and you can only get your account back if you have written down a lot of the info that came with it. This is not a Yale PhD program, it's a colorful anime website, who is really going to waste their time wr ...

Thank you. I would say more people are in a boat with you and me than with various abuses of the mule system. I have two accounts on Gaia each with an extensive inventory, this and Artess. I really liked the name so I made the mule, and years later, (but before the lockout system) made Artess into my second main. This actually MADE Gaia money because I amassed a second inventory for her tha ...

Then these people should come up with some actual way for users to reclaim their accounts. If what you say is true, how is a person that registered the account in like 2008 going to have all the info now? And if they do, they can just sell that account to somebody else and the black market still flourishes. Anything can be justified, but in the end, more people have legitimate secondary acc ...

You can, but it's not truly the same thing. For example, if you got Legolas in early 2003 and leave Gaia for a few years, and that gets blocked, you can make an alteration of that, but it's not quite the same. Such an account might also have items on it, which would be bad to lose.

An account with 0 posts and no other activity that was made in 2008 and that I have the password to? Your argument is possible but not very plausible. If you add the clause that somebody with the password can retrieve the account, then yes. I think an account with no activity that is that old, but that I have the password to, it is very unlikely that anybody but the owner is trying to access i ...

I am not a ******** hacker, thank you very much. I keep my eyes only on my own passwords. And you and I both know most people who get hacked got fooled, and voluntarily gave them away.
