the LAMEST reasons people report? 110 Gaia Community Discussion 8/13/07 5:24pm
iMurky
Someone sent me a scam PM once. I did nothing about it except report and move on. However, I get a second PM from the same person saying he reported me because I didn't reply to his first PM. It's strange. I don't pick a fight and leave things alone, but trouble always finds my way.

Chain mail has returned. 15 Gaia Community Discussion 8/11/07 4:19am
Hey its insert witty name
Chain mails never disappear. You don't need a friends@gaia in order to send a chain letter. People do it in my profile comments too. Not much of an annoyance though, when all I can do about it is just delete it.

Click-happy moderators and spam in GCD! 47 Gaia Community Discussion 8/12/07 12:28am
TheFiendishDev...
Well, for one thing, GD mods =/= GCD mods. So it's not like the moderating performance of one forum is the same for all other forums. I disagree with your opinion, I think there are more people who produce off-topic-GCD threads than those who don't. Personal anecdotes, rants, journal entries and one-liners, along with threads with content less than three sentences in the first post, aren't nece ...

Crackpot theories - a great way to release some tension amongst these age-old theories that consist of vampires, werewolves, aliens, etc. Often times I get tired reading of yet another zombie/GiB theory, so it's nice to give my brain a refresh and read some silly speculations. Ha. Ha.

ANOTHER discussion about noobs and asking for donations 41 Gaia Community Discussion 8/11/07 4:45am
Shadow Ice Knight
Gaia is, if not consisted a large part of, appealing avatar designs that would persuade a user to try and participate in its economy so as to be part of a more real-life experience in an internet community. If people were only here for the forums, then Gaia would receive hardly any trouble if it terminated its avatar system. However, that wouldn't be the case at all. So really, just as much as ...

Sometimes I can't post because Gaia says I've been posting too fast, even though it's been 10 minutes since I last typed something. Pretty annoying.

4200-RPM vs. 5400-RPM 21 C&T Tech-Talk 8/11/07 12:39am
Pompetti
OH. Yes, I think I understand much better now. Thank you very much for the help and the clarification. Yeah, you are right. I am planning on using this laptop for college, so I won't do more than use the internet, write essays, store pictures, and listen to music. No gaming whatsoever. I was worried that my RPM would seriously affect the performance of my laptop while I do daily tasks. Now I ...

4200-RPM vs. 5400-RPM 21 C&T Tech-Talk 8/11/07 12:39am

Okay, so I am going to assume that no matter what the hard drive capacity is, it is always better to have a higher RPM. But would it be suicide to keep the 4200-RPM in my laptop? I know the performance speed is very significant, but will it be so slow that it will drive me insane? Or is it tolerable? By the way, I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66 GHz processor. What's the difference between the ...

Hm, well can you confirm if a 200GB hard drive with 4200-RPM will perform the same as a 160GB hard drive with 5400-RPM? (according to the rumors I hear) @noname4u: I don't know how to get an HD Tune.
