I don't think the animal and factory parts are very accurate personally. I can understand that you're trying to compensate for the amount of time it takes to grow the crops for feed etc., but it's not an effective gauge since you can be growing crops and producing animal produce at the same time. I have not bought the extra inventory slots although I am definitely planning to get it in the future. As you expand, you begin to realize cash becomes less of an issue and space becomes one moreso. It seems to me that in the long run inventory space will be more beneficial than a mere 300K or so due to the flexibility of being able to rotate animals/factories.

Sunflowers definitely do not last 15 days. I seen some sunflowers wither after a couple days or so. I can't remember exactly how long it was, but it was definitely nowhere near even a whole week.

That is exactly what I was thinking as it seems that cabbage withers a lot faster than, say, potatoes. A common wither time multiplier seems to be the most likely but it is possible that each crop has its own individual wither times seeing as how the watermelon can go significantly longer amounts of time without withering despite its quick growth time.
