I heard only bad things about Connecticon... I'd say come to Fallcon again but if all goes well I won't be there! I'm still trying to figure out whether I'll be able to afford Stumptown and SDCC, but if I go to either, it'll be the latter. Definitely up for C2E2, plan on registering with my next paycheck.

This actually isn't true. Especially for comics, self-publishing has always been seen as a good way to get your foot in the door and show that you have the work-ethic to finish a project. It's really best to write the back summary for a book after the book has been finished. You can take inspiration from wherever you want and no one can stop you. But if you don't ALSO study the fundamentals of drawing from the ground up, then your art will be bad! Both your color and your "grayscale" need work. You should work on line variation and line width because you need to be able to build on solid inks before you can do anything to them.
