Forgive me for not reading through the 1,179 posts in this thread before posting.
I did a little online research and could find no evidence that "Gypsy" is the level of slur that needs it's letters blocked out. (I did however, find plenty of references to sterotyping as fortune tellers, etc being a definite slur, so I'm still signing the petition.)
