Wow, there's still people rping... ^^ surprising! Does anyone happen to know what happened to Pukio? I've been waiting around for a few months to get back into the shop but alas, she's been super busy with her friend moving in with her and stuff, and now she's been gone for some time on AIM. I thought I'd poke my head in here and see if she was about...

Trying to find my favorite paper! Anyone know of good paper? 33 Art Discussion 6/13/07 8:17pm

Well I know that the larger sheets can be bought in nicer art stores- here in AK we have Blaines that sells it, and while I'm away at college we have an art cellar in the school that sells it. So I'd say, any finer art store would be a safe bet to purchase nicer paper. And just my two cents, but being picky about paper might limit either your pocketbook or your practice. Just a thought.

Trying to find my favorite paper! Anyone know of good paper? 33 Art Discussion 6/13/07 8:17pm

For most drawing I really prefer basic computer paper, the cheap stuff. But I tend to prefer cheap supplies, and it depends on what I'm doing. If I'm going to ink it, I go for computer paper or a nice bristol If I'm doing things like fine arts or charcoal, I prefer to use arches fine arts paper, the nice thing about that is you can buy a huge 50 inch by 50 inch sheet and cut it down to the s ...

New website done! Take a look! 2 Promotions 6/9/07 7:35pm

It's very nice and well put together, I suggest using it as a professional portfolio page as opposed to a actuall just gallery page, since loading that much of a flash file can be really hard on a lot of internet speeds. And personally I disagree with the two fonts used on the front page, but that's just me. Great work in flash, by the way. I loved your little preloader spinny ^^

Let's Murder Fanart! 68 Art Discussion 6/11/07 5:04am

I'm returning to MCAD ( a good arts college ) for my third year thiscoming august. This last year, for my sophmore year, I had a room mate who was... Overzealous about batman. She was... beyond obsessed. All she draws is fan art. I mean it. That's it. If she's not drawing batman or superman, or batman and superman having sex, she's drawing Batman and Superman's LOVE CHILD, a 'original ch ...

Alright, good, the order is right. I'll tell you what I do, you try this out and see if you can make it work for you: Layers : Line art (on multiply or a transparent background) Colors (layer setting on normal) White background Now, you have your line art layer- get the wand tool, with it's setting at 35, and select an area you want colored- like the inside of her wings. And th ...

Aspiring Animators, anyone? 42 Art Discussion 6/11/07 11:37pm

Hm, I was an animation major for two years, and finally decided to go to illustration instead, just for the sake of my sanity. Most people who are in highschool and think they're going to be animators, honestly, don't end up being animators. You have to be pretty... unique, to fit the bill of an animator. And as far as getting stuff done overseas, large companies like Disney and most animate ...

If she drew it on a blank layer, she may have drawn it on the base layer with doesn't start blank unless you have your preferances set that way.

Photoshop Elements 3 16 Art Discussion 6/6/07 8:04pm

Elements has the channels and paths options, it does everything that photoshop can do, with far less of the useless bits and bobs part. That has been my experience, at least. If you go to your windows tab up top, and open your layers, I think it's in there. If not it might be with the original set up, or with history or something like that. I never use them, but I know it has them.

I have to say, I know nothing of Corel Painter or how it works, BUT- I know how to use Photoshop, and if Corel Painter has layers, and you can set one of those layers to multiply, then great. Here's how it works in Photoshop. You have your line art. It is a layer. You put this layer (with your line art) to MULTIPLY. Then you create a layer underneath it. You put your colors on this la ...

Yes, a professional CAN afford such a tool. That was why I said -average person- And student discounts- let's see, I think the last student discount I remember for photoshop CS2 that I heard was... 400 bucks. I don't know about you, but I can't really dish out 400 bucks, even if it is 'discounted'. And yes, manufacturing costs money, all of it costs money, but take... Games, like World ...

Wow Doug, that's the first post of yours I've seen where you make no referance to your supposed 'Artistic Genius'. Congrats! Edit: And it's come to my attention that you're probably just trying to cause trouble with your comments (Trolling, I think it's called?) Or you're on someone elses account and you're trying to give them a bad name.

I think Anatomy is something artists have to be -driven- to learn, I still work on it to this day, I think a lot of good artists still work to improve it, even professionals and the like (I see a lot of anatomical errors out there >.>) I don't plan on skipping over it, I'm going to spend a day on drawing the body, and the shapes, and helping them with tips and tricks I've learned, but I was pl ...
