Im having a hard time with this one.. 11 Life Issues 8/29/14 6:29am

You are feeling your feelings, and your feelings are legitimate. Your feelings can never be wrong because they are your feelings. Yes, it is ok to feel hurt, to feel betrayed, and to feel angry. That is totally ok. You were very close friends and now you aren't, and the circumstances around that were less than good. It is natural to feel hurt, betrayal, and anger. And it is natural to feel l ...

Got fired from my job 19 Life Issues 6/23/14 2:56am
very angry now
Alright, so in this situation, a guidance councillor (who can't even spell the job title) demonstrated -a total lack of classroom control and proper supervision -a complete disregard for procedures and regulations -a failure to co-operate and function with faculty -a lack of deductive reasoning skills -irresponsible and reckless behaviour and -extreme immaturity. Even without the is ...

I'm always tired like? 13 Life Issues 6/18/14 9:21pm
5lice
You are oversleeping. Whether that is the reason you are tired, or if the fact that you are tired and oversleeping is a symptom of a different problem is something none of us can answer. However, sleeping more at this point will only make things worse either way. You need to get serious about your sleep schedule. Decide upon and enforce regular bedtimes, and regular wake up times. Go to bed ...

Learn how to dance. That way when you are listening to music and you need to move you have options. You can channel that energy into a different activity that is fun and rewarding, you'll learn a new skill that will take you places, and you'll probably fall into a great community at the same time. Which is never a bad thing. Solo jazz has some routines that are freaking awesome. They look ...

Noise cancelling headphones. Invest in a pair for next year. This isn't going to be the last time you are going to have to deal with this situation. In the meantime, remember that you are even more sensitive to sounds right now since you are in a high state of stress. Is it going to be more embarrassing for you to go knock on their door and ask them to keep it down, or more embarrassing fo ...

What do I do ??? [suicidal thoughts] 9 Life Issues 5/9/14 5:25pm

Mental health issues are becoming more understood in the academic setting. Instructors often get training to be able to properly assist students who are struggling. College is stressful, and you are not alone in this struggle. Talking to someone and admitting you are struggling is a big step, and it is a hard one to take, even when you get to hide behind a screenname and avi and admit it to p ...

You are very welcome. I am feeling very uninspired in my writing right now, so I am using the same advice on myself. It seems to be working at least a little bit. I wish you all the best!

Help with artist's block 9 Life Issues 5/8/14 10:31am

Give yourself permission to suck. You don't have to create masterpieces, the point is to allow yourself the space to potentially create art. Sometimes art is more elusive than at other times. But you give yourself space to reach for it. You draw a bit every day. Cover some paper with some lines and some shading. The next day work on it some more. Cover more paper with some lines and some ...

She needs treatment as soon as possible. The doctors need to check her out to make sure there isn't something more serious wrong with her. If she was able to wake up this morning chances are better that there is no serious bleeding or swelling in the brain, but she needs to be closely monitored for 48 hours after the incident to make sure that nothing serious comes up. After that she needs ...

Will my mom live to be atleast 70? 7 Life Issues 5/8/14 3:33pm
Oojey
Maybe she will. It's possible. She might live for another 18 years until you're almost 40 and your sister is 30. Or she could survive another 6 years and pass once your sister reaches adulthood. Or she could have a heart attack or be in a car crash and die tomorrow. By the same token you could live until you're at least 70, or you could get hit by a bus tomorrow. This is the great my ...

She is probably concussed and may have whiplash. Both of these are serious, and need to be treated. Concussion is potentially fatal if not treated. A concussion is the brain being injured by getting squished up against the inside of the skull. There is a chance that blood vessels have opened up in her brain because of this. If untreated this could result in a fatal aneurism. She needs trea ...

I don't have any professional expertise, but this sounds like something more to me. I'm not going to make any guesses as to what it might be, but I think you should talk to someone in the medical field about this.

How I treat these TMD symptoms? 15 Life Issues 5/9/14 7:05am
XXxxElectric_R...
I remember talking to you before, about your fears about how jaw surgery would impact your singing. I told you about the experiences of my sister's friend who is a singer and has had jaw surgery. You incorrectly read the story I told as indicating you would be unable to sing for two years. This is not at all what I said, nor is it what this person experienced. What she experienced was being ...
