So i just got back from my prerelease. I wanted to play in the second flight, but registration finished and deck construction started while i was out to lunch. i think the lower rank decks getting printed were for cases where the actual top decks were all variations on the same archetype. they'd print the top four actually unique decks. could be wrong though.

you can also just opt not to add the mana to your pool, and then the braid will have to be sacrificed. not generally a choice worth making, but mindslaver, and effects that can penalize you for things you have on the field might make it relevant.

that's not really relevant to the question though. the reason one doubles up and the other doesn't is because one is a replacement effect, and the other is a non-conditional trigger. because the first is a replacement, if you have two alchemists, only one can replace damage with milling, so you can't double up. however, you do get double tokens because the ability doesn't say "if you do" be ...

Supertypes don't have sub types. Sub types, by definition, are linked to types. The point of tribal is that it grants a card access to more subtypes (namely creature types) so it had to be a type by necessity. creature isn't a super type. it's just a type. super types are basic, legendary, snow, and world (and ongoing, if you count outside of basic cards). I don't think it's really broken since the feat only works once per encounter, and requires you hit with an encounter power to work. even with a whole party of half-elf artificers, you're never going to net healing surges if you face anything approaching a challenge. It's a bit of cheese, but not exactly overwhelming.
