The only series I've ever watched that made me actually feel depressed would BY FAR be "Welcome to the NHK". They got to the part where he gets addicted to what is clearly FFXI and I started actually feeling nauseous... (I played that game for 3 years solid... eventually my gameplay hours were in the thousands...) Great series, but really strikes a cord in spots.

I think I would concur that they look like 3.5mm TRS cables (commonly known as "stereo" or "headphone" plugs). Would need a better picture to be sure. Do they fit properly into the headphone jack of an mp3 player? Half water and half isopropyl alcohol or white vinegar and any microfiber cloth. Pour/spray the cleaning solution into the cloth and not directly onto the screen.

Action locks (with a stored unloaded gun) are pretty secure, not against theft obviously, but at least accidental discharge. I loath trigger locks though and don't think they should count as even trying to lock it up. From a theoretical standpoint, it's because the US is extremely diverse for the surface area. In pretty much all states it's actually about the same: You must keep loaded firearms out of the reach of children. If you fail and an unlocked and loaded gun is obtained/used by a minor, you face felony charges. The "if" charges vary the most state to state. Ehhh, that's getting a bit Ted Nugent-ey. I really do wish that this worked here, then maybe it would be worth considering, but it's been borne out repeatedly that when they try increasing the controls here it doesn't actually do anything to the difficulty of criminals to get guns. Ah, couldn't tell if it was one of the ones with the plastic casing from the picture. "Metal" is still almost a misnomer, I'm really not a fan of cast zinc vs machined steel. (I do realize they are quite tough in the end... it just doesn't do it for me. Huge clunky monsters.)
