Yeah...I kind of thought the same thing....
So has everyone seen the amount for this years PFD? Does anyone here get a PFD? and if you do, what are you gonna spend that sweet sweet oil money on?
I personally will be using it to buy textbooks for college and putting the rest in savings :xp:

T_T Well fellow Alaskans, it's official...Winter is here and it's here to stay. Fairbanks got it's first doe of snow last night and as of this morning it's still snowing and sticking. *sigh* I guess this means I've got to dig out the winter gear...

it's been a downright September so far, though Fairbanks finally did get some of it's near famous autumn winds.

oh yea, I live in Fairbanks and it's a whole other game when it comes to winter. We don't get much snow, because it's classified as a desert up here...also, it gets so cold that the ice stops being slippery, because all the excess water either evaporates or freezes it's quite nutty.

UAF has grad students from all over the world it's crazy! Like a real university! Anyway, yeah if the state could go a fall without the hurricane force winds blowing shingles off houses and knocking trees into power lines that would be fantastic.

Hola from the frozen north! I hail from Alaska, lived here longer than I have other places so I guess I'll consider it my home state. Overall the weather isn't too bad, this Indian summer we were having was just wonderful! I notice more people at UAF are local AK folk (then again I live in the area so my observations are very biased)

it depends, most foreign names are written in katakana、アンバー for amber to continue this threads example. However, several forigners living in Japan will use kanji for their names. (This is helpful when you purchase a hanko stamp, a stamp that is used as your signature on offical documents like insurance and rental agreements)
For names in Kanji there are two different ways to go about i ...

Like you, I have a really hard time just being able to look at a single character and know the multiple onyomi and kunyomi. However here is a trick I've found that has helped me out a little bit. If I'm able to find kanji combinations that use the different readings of a particular character i'm able to remember the various readings easier.
For example with the character 人: I'd have maybe ...
