I dunno, Yosei single handedly can cause a win, period. Elesh Norn is removal and mass pump on one card, often winning the turn you play her by virtue of being a double glorious anthem in the EDH aggro color. Whips hit from further than a spiked chain, and are one handed, allowing for the use of an off hand weapon with it, which can threaten squares. The damage with a whip is pointless, since whips are about versatility, not damage output. Hell, if you're holding a weapon and not a spell component pouch, you're obviously not concerned with dealing damage.

For eight mana I want more than making my good cards more n00b friendly. 8 mana should be winning games, or single handedly locking things down, not setting up a defense and having good synergy with better cards that cost half as much.

You need more burn, not less. Aggro decks like this need to win faster, not slower. Also, no Olivia? Also, for an aggro deck, you have a midrange curve, glutting at three, but all of your three mana cards require other cards to be good. I'd start thinking about adding either more midrange cards, like Olivia Voldaren, or adding more aggressive cards, like reckless waif.

Wait, since when is a reach weapon with 15 foot reach, that can hit in melee, and can be used to trip, disarm (with a +2), and grapple bad? Hell, it even let's dex heavy characters invest use weapon finesse with it. You guys are being kinda harsh on the whip. Is it perhaps because pushing out big numbers seems better in a vacuum? I'd say the biggest hope for him being a planeswalker is that it's the only one of the pack arts that could even fit the bill. Probably not black, since every planeswalker in to block thus far has been black. Likely red, probably mono red. Don't start until you've read every single book you plan on drawing anything from cover to cover, enou times to understand it. We probably won't get too many ravnica reprints at all. For one, the flavor would be off, since the guilds have been dissolved. Two, it is a bad marketing pitch to say "buy packs full of cards you already own." Three, look to scars, having what, nine reprints? It's lazy set design.
