Being a writer, I feel honor-bound to set things right here. Antagonist is not a term for a bad guy, anti-hero, or anything else like that. It merely denotes a character that opposes and stands against the protagonist, who may or may not even be a hero. He/she's just the main character.

I thought that Gundam Seed was a complete cut and paste blend job of all the other, older, better Gundam Series. I found the characters to be hopelessly bland, mary-sue/gary-stueish, and at times outright annoying. I outright wanted to see Kira die a horrible, painful demeaning death, he taxed my patience. That's actually a very good question. Well I think that the new name would not work because ultimately the person knows its a changed name, they would still hold their 'real' name close inside, and there is a lot when it comes to mythology and names.
