I write stories, fanfiction (I usually give up pretty quick on that), dialogue for comics, and the occasional poem.
my stories tend to be escapist in nature, and usually sci-fi or fantasy. Although I've had a few ideas that were just plain weird. The inside of my mind is a wondrous, magic filled place with mythical creatures abound and giant robots running rampant. (Flower Wars. And no, not ...

It is not illegal to research morbid things. Medical and law students have to learn somehow.
And actually, writing gets you pretty far. Heck, you can ASK cops about memorable cases they've worked on. As long as the case is closed, they'll usually tell you about it.
"Black Market organ Trade" and "Grave Robbing" were most interesting to research. Of course, so were Medieval Torture De ...

....actually, it sounds like a good story. I wish you the best of luck with it.
And it sounds familiar because it IS familiar. Maybe not in the book sense, but because it is an Archetype. dealing with traumatic loss and still going about your daily life is something we all have to face at some point. It's something that really does happen, and we can empathize.

"A little graphic" -Providing of course that you aren't recreating a Saw movie in text form- would probably be okay. They are more concerned with F-bombs and sexual content than gore. (although if you are serious about this book, putting it up on Gaia for all to read would kill your chances at publishing. Something to be aware of.)

best of luck to you then!
And e-publishing yourself can be a great way to do things, but beware the fine print of any contract. Ask to see the contract terms before you show them a manuscript. If they are not negotiable, either hope you're happy with it or run like hell.
And for your -and every writer after you's- sake, avoid PublishAmerica like the Plague. They have had multiple clas ...

I'm gonna have to say that the logical step would actually be "End the chapter" or "Timeskip". Especially if you've fallen into the routine of writing dream sequences
Unless you're going to shift to something extremely relevant to the story (Like say, your main character getting chomped on by a vampire, or switching to introduce a villain) SKIP IT. A short chapter is better than a confusing ...

I rather like using those cute little mini-journals to write out whatever I happen to be thinking. Bonus point if it's a more plain one that I put stickers and doodles all over. (Regular notebooks look too homework-y most of the time. Little journals though? those are great. i think I have half a book in one somewhere, although at this point I'd scrap the whole story.) When I'm not doodling ...

I'd recommend Night Watch, unless you can't handle subtitles. It's a really good movie.

I'd find it pretty strange if they gave wolves a way to regain energy on each other, but not humans.
