Oh, any news on integrating achievements into zOMG like we once discussed?

We're supposed to roll out site integration for zOMG in the next week; just pending some stuff from the artists. ~pan

After some private PM discussion with Panagrammic in PMs, I rose this up with him. I recieved no response for a while but recently brought it back up with him during the last Secret Dev Club meet.

Suffice to say, his words were along the lines of: "I'd like to implement achievements even deeper into the site, it's very likely zOMG achievements will be included with the next zOMG update."

Would you want zOMG achievement points, IE badges, to add to your total forum score? I imagine, when (Or more specifically, IF) the achievement points mean something, that zOMG would suddenly be more popular as users would want those extra points as to achieve a particular item or Gaia bonus.

Would you want for zOMG (And perhaps the other Gaia Games) to have their own achievements that would add to the forums total?

If so, how would you like to see it work? What sort of achievement point values would you like to have? Perhaps some example achievements?

Maybe...

"Starting out." - Began zOMG and recieved your first ring. - 25 points

"First steps." - Awarded for killing your first enemy in zOMG! - 50 points

"One step for man." - Awarded for killing your first 100 enemies in zOMG! - 50 points.

"One giant leap for mankind." - Awarded for killing your first 1000 enemies in zOMG! - 100 points

"One boot for Chuck Norris." - Awarded for killing your first 10,000 enemies. - 100 Points

"Rambo would be proud." - Awarded for killing 100,000 enemies. - 250 points.

"Combat Badge Hunter."- Achieved all Kill badges. - 1000 Points

It's not about the number, it's about getting the achievement. I don't think anyone would be more likely to do it if it was worth 200. Hell, Elocutionist is only worth 200.

I do like this idea, it might get some new people interested or get old players to give zOMG a chance if they never have. There are lots of users who want all the achievements.

I think acheivements for zomg are long overdue. The op suggestions are good, and something like this may bring in lots of new players.

I like the idea of killing a certain number of enemies to get an achievement, but I think putting the badges with the forum achievements would make a clutter. It would be nice to get corresponding prizes for the achievements.

I don't mean putting the badges themselves in the achievements menu, just achievement POINTS for certain badges, like the 5000p ones.

Maybe if you bumped up some of the reward points, it would create more incentive for those who are obsessed with gaining achievements. I love the idea and support it even more because it does have the potential to bring in more players.

(for the mini-event achievements, they dont have to be different mini-events, as that would be impossible to win 20 different ones)
