What is this?
A competitive run through GR-BL to see which team is the fastest. The runs will be a test of skill and thus the use of revives and superchargers is forbidden. Amps will be provided to all teams.
When will this even be happening?
The event window is subject to vary but it should start on April 25th, 2014 and last for several weeks to give crews time to pick a good time for all involved. I'd like to have all runs done by the end of May if possible.

Who can join?
Anyone who is attuned! You just need to get a team of 5 together and the 6th will be an observer/judge whom will act as a dpser for the team and follow whatever instructions given to them. I’ll create a list for people interested (but without a team) to facilitate team-forming. =

How do I sign up?
Each crew needs a designated captain to represent them and coordinate their run, a team name (example: Team Discovery Channel!)They also need a banner/flag (crappy MS Paint or a picture from the internet will suffice if you have no art skills) and a team mascot for… reasons. When you have all those the captain needs to post the team roster in this thread along with the banner/flag and team name. You will want to consider substitutes in case something comes up before or during the run.

What are the prizes?
1st place: each crewmember gets an item delivered to them worth $4.99 or less from the cash shop of their choosing along with a signed Sarah Palin picture mailed to them. Chibi art of the winners drawn by Eus-mylus. 100million gold each (500m total).
2nd place: each crewmember gets an item delivered to them worth $2.99 or less from the cash shop of their choosing. 50million gold each each (250m total)
3rd place: each crewmember gets an item delivered to them worth $.99 or less from the cash shop of their choosing. 25 million gold each (125m total)



and 25million for each of the individual prizes.

Best leader (clearest, concise, direct): Mystery prize
Survivor (Person who has died the least): Mystery prize.

Rules
1: Integrity is not allowed for anyone but the team’s observer.
2: Each crew will have an observer. That observer will need their entire ring set assigned to them and has access to every ring in the game (including SH) at Cl 12. The observer is not allowed to give advice, map rooms, tank, BU, adren. The observer can answer game questions and contest questions.
3: Supercharger and revive use is strictly forbidden. Amps will be allowed if everyone has access to one deluxe pack.
4: Each team will get the option of two 15 minute timeouts. In a timeout the crew is not allowed to advance any further or null. A timeout should probably be called for a food/bathroom break, if someone DCS, or to give time to recruit a sub if someone has to go all the sudden.
5: GR will have to be completely cleared (all 20 rooms) before continuing onto Crypt unless the majority of the participants want to be judged by avg time per GR multiplied by 20.

FAQ:
What does the observer’s function?
To record the run, insure that the rules are being followed, and to give every crew access to SH if they wish it. The observer will also test the crew’s leadership ability by trying to follow whatever instructions the crew leader lays out to the letter and if the observer doesn’t get instructions then the observer will do nothing until they do.
Example: Telling the observer to attack all the things will result in them attacking indiscriminately while establishing a kill order will create a system for them to follow.

Why does the observer get to use integ while no one else can?
To give the crew more options when assigning the observer’s ring set.

An Observer can participate in other teams, however they can't be team leader or second-in-command if the team leader designates one to give instructions if they're too busy (such as the team leader tanking a room)

What if the servers are laggy and unplayable when our agreed upon run is scheduled?
We’ll reschedule.

What if we accidentally reset a part of DMS?
If it’s the team’s fault they will have to reclear that part. If it’s the observer’s fault then it won’t count against the team’s time.

What if we get grued?
Huehuehuehuehue. You should consider that possibility when assigning rings.

What servers will the runs be on?
The crews will get to decide which available server to select for their run. Keep in mind which ones have bats in BL and which ones don’t.

Can I be a sponsor and participate?
Yes absolutely.


Can I join multiple teams?
No. You MAY be an emergency sub for a team if they’ll have you . I’m not sure yet. Either way you won’t be getting multiple prizes

How does subs work with prizes?
The prize will be split with the person who has been replaced as equitably as possible.

Can there be second-in-command or co-leaders?
Sure. If the observer sees the second in command giving the majority of the the orders they’ll be considered the leader though.

Can we do uniforms?
If your team wants to be in uniforms or costumes then go all for it.

How do you expect us to tank BL without superchargers, revives and integrity?
People have done it before. Try that fleet method out and change ring sets accordingly if you need to.

What if no one can tank BL and everyone gives up?
Then the time spent in the area won’t be counted. If one team does manage to beat BL and the others don’t then the failing teams will incur a time penalty as a consequence for giving up.

What is your stand point on observers bringing rings such as fleet and different crowd controls/debuffs such as knife,cat,tape?
If assigned they can bring and use these rings.

Will this be streamed?
Possibly. Probably.

Will we be able to voice chat during the run?
Yes. If you want to communicate on skype or any other form of communication you may.

Is GR mobbing allowed?
Yes GR mobbing is allowed and that is the main reason why the observer is allowed to use crowd control rings. The observer (maybe I should just change the name to judge) would do their best to follow the directions of the captain to cat and/or heal. The rules allow for an observer to carry healing rings, just not be a tank or responsible for keeping the tank alive or use adren.

It's far better than the alternative of having a 5 man crew with the observer doing nothing but standing around.
