Gaia's battle system ideas are in fact original and unique.

I believe this new Battle System will add to Gaia's originality, not take it away from it.

Hmmm..flying in the Gaia Battle system could be made into a seperate game entirely...
Perhaps one of those "Scrolling shooters" like 1941:Counter Attack
or Perfect Cherry Blossom.

Yes, there is a battle system coming. Nobody knows if it's soon or not, as a release date hasn't been confirmed yet.

As for the topic at hand, flying would be interesting.
