I didn't watch it all because, well, ain't nobody got time for that. But this looks like fun, and it proves that the skill of the player is more important than the rings. Someone can have all the "right" rings and still suck (like me trying to solo the Coliseum for badges emo ), but then pros can go in and pwn s**t even with fire rain and gumshoe XD

It makes me sad seeing that you guys completed two runs with shitty "different" rings in the time it usually takes me to complete one run with normal rings D=

Pretty soon people are gonna start playing DMS the way they play PS/smeb--just rushing in and using AoE on everything, and it's gonna be all your fault!! XD

It's not a matter of what you can't do, but what you can.
And It's clear to see that you have proved that quite well.

The usual scenario of taking what one says and proving them otherwise.
That is the main purpose here.

But what doesn't seem to fit or sit well is the fact that you addressed it as a "Troll".

I don't quite think there is enough supporting evidence here to label this as a "Troll" or "Trolling".

Below I have taken a definition of trolling from a common website linked here:

Trolling:


The art of deliberately, cleverly, and secretly pissing people off, usually via the internet, using dialogue. Trolling does not mean just making rude remarks: Shouting swear words at someone doesn't count as trolling; it's just flaming, and isn't funny. Spam isn't trolling either; it pisses people off, but it's lame.

The most essential part of trolling is convincing your victim that either a) truly believe in what you are saying, no matter how outrageous, or b) give your victim malicious instructions, under the guise of help.

Trolling requires decieving; any trolling that doesn't involve decieving someone isn't trolling at all; it's just stupid. As such, your victim must not know that you are trolling; if he does, you are an unsuccesful troll.

Signs that your trolling is succesful:
*Your victim screaming in all-caps at you.
*Personal attacks (Calling you a retard, idiot, etc).
*Being an Internet Tough Guy.
*Making a crude remark, before quickly logging off before you can retort.

Signs that your trolling is unsuccesful:
*Your victim identifying you as a troll.
*Identifying yourself as a troll.
*Your efforts being ignored.
*Being counter-trolled (See below)

Counter-trolling (Or reverse trolling) is an effective method of redeeming yourself after being trolled. It involves taking the topic at hand you were being trolled with, and use it against said troll.

More correctly it should be labeled as the "Unorthodox" methods of YMing or Speed YM.

Why?

Because of the following obvious factors:

- It is clearly organized seeing as 2 and more than one member if not all within crew knew the intention of said run.
- I know all of you well enough that there is no possible way any of you could incorrectly use any ring in YM or etc.
- More than one member is veggie, because you all know nobody is going to get dazed playing with fire in this crew.
- If it isn't obvious at all, you all know each other.

Overall this is great if not fantastic.
And quite frankly I support it.

BUT.

Why does this disturb me; why does the use of the label "Troll" irk me?

Simple.

This is like a Free-For-All match, as an example.
You can lay out a bunch of guns on a table and
get a bunch of wet-eared kids to join your side.

Vs.

A bunch of kids on the other side with a pro status
and custom weapon sets and enough knowledge to
have the upper-hand. (You guys)

What happens when both teams roll out and get down to business?

The nubs on the other team have most likely shot and backfired on
themselves before you even had to take them out.

Their excuse at the end results?

- Oh the gun sucks.
- The other team had a advantage over us.
- Well they had the same s**t so why didn't it work?


Point is...

You can give any one a gun or a ring, but it takes prior skill and
knowledge to be able to use it correctly and efficiently.

The worst part of this that worries me is that I'm going to come
across a crew with some ignorant noob with no experience under his
belt claiming that he can attempt to DMS using this method and being a
actual troll to the crew and himself because his brain was trolled into believing
that this method will work for anyone and in a NON-CONTROLLED or organized
run adopting this method.

In other words you trolled others that may not know better into trolling themselves.
It's not like this won't happen; it will happen.
And I swear if some nub does this stupidly and refers me to this thread,
I will be genuinely pissed that you guys made a new breed
of ignorant uneducated trolls.



But all in all, good job guys.
Nothing is impossible!
But watch how you label things.
We already saw this happen once by someone we all knew.
