Shouldn't it? I've had invites from random people that sucked me into their layer. How else would they know I was on?

I think the Recrewt panel shows everybody in the area, even if they're in a different layer. Go ahead, open it up in the Null Chamber.

You can use /invite on people outside your current area though, and also on people who turned off the "Looking for Crew" checkbox on their own Recrewt panel.

Normal eggs, appear to respawn at a random location (on the same map). So as long as you keep killing them, they'll keep appearing.

The Golden Egg... I'm not sure about. I know it's only one per map, but whether it's one per server or what, I'm not sure.
