You all do know that the ring inventory box scrolls down for more spaces, right? I just keep my favorite rings down a couple rows from the top. This keeps the top two or three rows empty for the ringdrops which occur during a play session. This way, I can quickly salvage rings from the "top row" & be confident that none of those are "keepers". I know I probably spend more time housekeeping than many of you would prefer, but I guess I'm just silly that I like organizing in addition to actually "playing".

It's not just you. I've been doing the exact same thing. I even had to add an extra row last week because of an incredible number of ring drops during an SS run.

By the way, I've been curious to know the exact intent of the "staggered ring rewards" update, because depending on the answer, it might suggest a change to the random enemy drops as well.

This is all well and all, but you have to think from the POV of a newbie.

They have 8 rings and they make a pretty good set, so they don't really care about other rings. So they get healing halo, or lets say they solo and they get a defib, wish, etc... they should be able to get rid of those rings to be able to level up the rings they'll actually use further. This gives them some options and they can choose between leveling up slower without salvaging rings or salvaging extra rings and getting through quicker neutral

Well you see, if you get orbs instead of a duplicate rings you can still level up the rings you have. And don't you agree that you should have all 40 rings by the time you get to cl.....lets say 8ish-9ish? If you only get one of each and get them doing the quests or as drops, but just one of each that you don't have then you will have them by then. I kinda see what she means and I for one have all forty rings and would love for them to stop dropping already. xp

Hmmm, but all i know is I remember only having like 15ish rings by the time I beat EB, I had really only cared to level up my main set, some very longish time ago. So it probably isn't too big of a deal, but some people would rather salvage a new ring now and get it back later in the shallow seas, where they hear ring drops are great and higher leveled... this also brings up the situation that some people don't like to waste orbs on rings except the higher leveled drops from Shallow Seas, because it takes a whole lot less to get a cl 8 ring to cl 10, then to get a cl 1 ring to cl 10, neutral

But maybe that's just me being bratty xd

Lets say I have a CL3 Hack, and that's the only Hack I have.
If I then got a CL8 Hack drop, it would be bad to not get it or have it automatic salvaged

This.
The other example given by this post (to do with swapping CLs) is also a great one, but this is one I REALLY think is a great reason that this type of thing hasn't been implemented.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying that your idea is horrible or anything, nor trying to be a jerk, but I just find this feature to be insanely useful. It would have been a pain in the a** to get my CL 1.4-ish Quicksand to CL 10.0 by simply using orbs. Since I got one that was 7.5-ish in a drop a while ago, that was MUCH easier.

I don't see the point in collecting many unsoulbound rings if you're just going to either Salvage them or make a pretty picture arranging them.

To sell them.

I have the unsoulbound rings that I have because I use orbs to raise them to 10.0 and then sell. If those were automatically converted into orbs.... I think I would want to wrong someone's neck. stressed

Just wondering how many of you know that the at least one of the devs thinks that people with a lot of ring and recipes may have problems with the 104 error? I know I did but once I selvage over 500 ring and God alone knows how many recipes that problem went away. So, yes I was really lazy about salvaging rings and selling off recipes, can't blame me though, I didn't need orbs or gold, just wanted to keep playing. Anyways, bet you did, did you?

Also, if I get a high CL ring I already have a high CL on, I usually swap the CL with a low CL ring, and therefore have saved Orbs
For example, if I have a CL10 Mantis, and get a CL8 Mantis, I'll swap the CL with my CL2 Fleet Feet, and then salvage the now CL2 Mantis

You know, if everyone get there rings at the same cl the are all in the same boat though and they acctully have to work to raise there rings and they might, just might learn something about how to play the game. Just a thought.

I do see your point about other ring set at another cls but I see the point to of lessening the amount of rings dropped or even doing away with it and just having all the rings drop for everyone at different points in the game also. Just think then you could do a ring trade system so people could trade with other people for rings they would like. Of course Qixter will never see what I have to say so it's a mot point anyways. xd Weirdest feedback fourm ever where you get put on ignore because you say something they don't like. rolleyes

I'd like to add something to this point. From my knowledge zOMG is the only game where you can obtain new "powers" / "abilities" at any level higher than one. Then on the other hand, your rings are not really "powers", they are more like tools. But still, I somehow get very intrigued by the idea that each and every ring drop could be at CL 1. Sure it would suck and a lot more grinding would be involved, but I just like the idea that this could mean that being a CL 10 means something, again and that you accomplished something.

Just me.

No I agree if they stay drops they should be cl 1 drops. But if you get them as a quest reward they could and maybe should be in the cl range of the area you get from. Like if you get a ring in Barton for a quest it should be cl 1 but if you do a quest in Otami it should be cl 8. Make sense?

I was thinking.

This is just an idea.

They could implement a feature.

For example, I have a CL10 Defib and lets throw in a CL5 Defib. While out killing, I recieve a say, 7.2 CL Defib from a drop. A window could pop up saying.

"You already have this ring at CL10 and CL5, would you like to salvage it? You will earn X amount of orbs when you salvage this ring"

Click yes, the ring is automatically salvaged and you never have to touch it in your inventory.

Click no, the ring goes to your inventory like normal.

This way, you can quickly salvage the ring if you want to and you know how many orbs you are getting.

and, if you don't want that window to pop up while playing(like the Trixies tips in the null chamber) then you can have the option of turning it off.

That way, both parties get a way to deal with their rings as they wish. 3nodding

... Did you seriously just suggest pop ups while fighting?

have been saying from the start of the game whe need a ringsink , mi personal sudgestion was for rings to be treated as recipes so that the player could go to back ally bargain and trade there lowest cl ring for an item on the shape of that rings attack like mantis giving you a shinning katana or a ghostly katana and or ghostly samurai that follows you or set it as an "iam" , shark attack could make a land shark for your avatar or an "i am" mini landshark and HBW could make a fail whale for your avatar or an "i am' fail whale

a friend of mine sead that instead of using any ring it most use cl 10 rings to make both an orb and ring sink and also slowing down the item injection in to the market .

god i love it wen people cant find a solution for simple thing and they take stupid drastic measures that Just end up ******** things up don't you ?

and that's why I suggested having the option to turn it off. Don't want it there while you're fighting, then turn it off.

You'd be a fool to have it on. A dead fool at that. D:

No point coding a feature that people wouldn't use.

True true.

Perhaps not coding it when you're fighting. Perhaps setting it up for when you're in the null chamber.

Set up some kind of option that would work, but could still be turned off if you wish. Maybe not exactly as I was suggesting. But an autosalvage feature that can be set at the players discretion(like if they want the option of autosalvaging drop rings that are of a lower CL then the same ring.)

It should be set up how the player wants it. Or just turned off all together.

Bump my thread when my tank's glowing
I doesn't have to be a pop-up window. What about a blinking icon in the corner of your screen, by the shop. You click it to bring up the window, that way you don't have stuff pop-in up while you are fighing. If it flashes you have double ring and can opt to selvage them right then and there. It could reset when you log off.
