Sensual Soul
Well when I have brought up the the "salvaged my only ring" thing and made suggestions Qixter all but called me "naive" or stupid. (On his profile.) And he said that people are just scamming. *shrug* In other words he's not going to worry about it.

I don't know why we even have all these rings drop. Why not have everyone earn one of each and just have them, then the selvage option would be a mot point. And once you have them just don't drop ring or that type of ring anymore for that person. *shrug* Make perfect sense since they are soulbound anyways and you can only use one of each kind.

So my question is, why do we have multiple rings drops? What is the purpose? We can't use them, so we selvage them for orbs, why not just drop the orbs? Why not just have one of each drop in random play, or have us earn each ring doing a quest for each and have it bound to us in game. I don't see the use in it at all, wouldn't it make more sense to just do away with salvaging and drop orbs not rings? It's kind of redundant to drop all the same rings over and over again. If we could sell the rings like in the beginning of Open beta or in closed beta then I could understand it but as it is they are soulbound so why not just have one of each drop to each player and that's it, and do away with the whole selvage thing.

... As I said in my thread, if individual ring CLs could be adjusted, I agree. Otherwise, I disagree; I like playing with different CL rings every now and then.

So you want them to make is so you can suppress one at a time? Hmm, I guess. I don't see the need to do that but I bet they could do it if there was a good reason to do it. But we can suppress so there is not real need to have different cl rings.

Ohh yes there is. Theoretically speaking, if I wanted to use a CL 1 medic set while my other 4 rings are CL 10, that makes a difference.

If I only had one of each ring, and all at CL 10, that would mean I'd have to suppress all my other rings to 7.5 to get the same overall CL I want. Is it a big difference? Not huge, but it does impact gameplay.

Art by Xenon Ace~ Bump this if im glowing? :3
Well have you suggested that they change the suppression feature to reflect your way of playing?

I agree with this. I often supress my CL by choosing my necessary rings, and leaving the other spots empty or with CL1 rings.

This is all well and all, but you have to think from the POV of a newbie.

They have 8 rings and they make a pretty good set, so they don't really care about other rings. So they get healing halo, or lets say they solo and they get a defib, wish, etc... they should be able to get rid of those rings to be able to level up the rings they'll actually use further. This gives them some options and they can choose between leveling up slower without salvaging rings or salvaging extra rings and getting through quicker neutral

I wish we could have an option to lock down the rings we wanted, so they couldn't be salvaged until we unlocked them - and unlocking them would take a bit more than just one pop-up confirmation -- or even have the option to permanently lock them down. Ever since the beginning I've had this fear of accidentally salvaging one of my "good" rings (aka the ones I use/wanted to keep). I hate that when you go to look at your rings it automatically pops up with the first ring on your hand and goes to that ring as soon as you salvage a different ring.

Yesterday I accidentally salvaged my 10.0 Solar Rays. I was horrified, pissed, and a little sad as it was my very first zOMG ring, and I'd been playing with it for a year. All I was trying to do was salvage the five random rings I had gotten from the event when I went "one time too many" and it went to my equipped solar rays and then *poof* it was gone before I realized what had happened. Yes, I realize there is a pop-up confirmation, but obviously in this situation that didn't do much for me. It was just an unfortunate mistake that I really wish hadn't happened. : /

I also wish for an option that every "extra" ring that drops, when it is acquired in the inventory it immediately disperses into Orbs.

Example: I gain a CL 8 Hack, but the feature recognizes the ring and destroys it for the Orbs instead. I don't see the point in collecting many unsoulbound rings if you're just going to either Salvage them or make a pretty picture arranging them.

Well you see, if you get orbs instead of a duplicate rings you can still level up the rings you have. And don't you agree that you should have all 40 rings by the time you get to cl.....lets say 8ish-9ish? If you only get one of each and get them doing the quests or as drops, but just one of each that you don't have then you will have them by then. I kinda see what she means and I for one have all forty rings and would love for them to stop dropping already. xp

I could never understand why it want to your equipped rings at all. It should go to the first square of you inventory, or the first ring there after, not your equipped rings.

NOOOO!!!! xd I like to use different CL rings for different reasons / events. If rings stopped dropping or immediately converted to orbs, then I couldn't have my slash10, my alternate slash7, & my super-alternate slash2 rings.

You all do know that the ring inventory box scrolls down for more spaces, right? I just keep my favorite rings down a couple rows from the top. This keeps the top two or three rows empty for the ringdrops which occur during a play session. This way, I can quickly salvage rings from the "top row" & be confident that none of those are "keepers". I know I probably spend more time housekeeping than many of you would prefer, but I guess I'm just silly that I like organizing in addition to actually "playing".

I get have a lot of buffs in my inventory and they are all arranged by cL I play all over so sometime i get high versions sometimes i don't it saves me a lot of work if i have a cl 2 fleet fleet and fight a little in gold beach and ger a cl 4.2 fleet fleet to just salvage the lower cL right?

Having ring drops (even dupe ring drops) helps people get to CL 10.0 faster and them helps them max out their rings. Also, it allows people to collect ring sets of different CLs. Personally after maxing all rings I am working on a different set of all CL 1.0 rings.

As for everything else, the majority of people posting about 'accidentally salvaging rings' really are scamming. I brought this same point up to Qixter and he has opened my eyes on the subject a bit. It's incredibly easy for a Dev to verify if a person complaining about salvaged rings is telling the truth. They have found that most of the time the complainers are just looking to get a free ride from a sucker.

Lets say I have a CL3 Hack, and that's the only Hack I have.
If I then got a CL8 Hack drop, it would be bad to not get it or have it automatic salvaged

Also, if I get a high CL ring I already have a high CL on, I usually swap the CL with a low CL ring, and therefore have saved Orbs
For example, if I have a CL10 Mantis, and get a CL8 Mantis, I'll swap the CL with my CL2 Fleet Feet, and then salvage the now CL2 Mantis

CL 10 rings: 8/40
