Welcome to Gaia! ::

Would "Pirate Ninja" be a good 2 set build?.
Yay, chef love!~

I can't play in the Open Beta yet, though I was a ninja chef throughout nearly the entire Closed Beta, and I loved it! Mantis, despite the criticisms surrounding it, is a great ring when pumped with a decent amount of charge. Dervish is kickass, and the chef bonus grants the DEF boost needed to get up close to use it. Teflon spray is great too, though I never got far enough to utilise it fully...

well let me contribute a bit =]

i run a demonic ninja build...this allows me to run around and get ALL the enemies to follow me that are orange/green and then spam fire rain and dervish...i call it aoe tanking cause your teammates can just pick them off while you hit all of them at once. a team mate can use teflon.

btw long exactly does teflon last?
I was going to suggest this. xd

Two of the people I crew with regularly use this, and it works out really well for entering areas early and wiping everything out. Get your dodge high enough to the point where others can't touch you, then you a mix of fire rain and dervish to drive them all out. It gets to the point where you'll have 15 mobs on you without taking any damage.
Thanks for this Pie,
I was waiting to see which sets could possibly go together (:
great name and guide Pie XD keep it up girl XD.
wow nice job pie.
curently i have the ninja set the medic set and the athelet set.
the athelets health boost is awsome...but it lacks alot

bump is a decent ring but dosnt hurt to much
fleet of foot helps get you places faster but thats about it
fitness is awsome as always
taunt is good in crews but not anywere else

i tried pairing it with ninja for an epic fail becase i didnt have any heal power

Curently im useing Medical Ninja its good for crews becase i can go to the center use dervish to knoeck back all enemys then use diagnose to heal up everyone.

Thanks so much for writing this. This gives some of the best ring explanations I've seen so far.

I just put together the Pirate set a couple nights ago, and I love it. So, i think maybe I'll be putting together Chef or Medic sometime soon 3nodding
Here's a build for ya biggrin
---------------------------
a theoretical build (I can't play yet, and I didn't try the Athlete set during the zETA)

Chef+Athlete set= The Meatshield

Pro's~
Bonus DEF from the chef set+Bonus HP from the athlete set. Additionally, the Fitness ring buffs the users stats by how many charge orbs are pumped into it, and it gets the great self-support buffs, Meat and Teflon Spray. Using all that, it becomes a great support build. Buff others with Fleet Feet and Knife Sharpen, and use Taunt to get the enemies attacking you, letting your teammates do the damage. Due to all the aforementioned stat bonuses and self-buffs, you should be relatively unharmed. Bump sounds like an awesome ring (I never got to use it during the zETA), that can knock monsters away from the fragile members of your team.

Con's
You only have one attack. A nice attack, but only one, nonetheless, which will limit how you can get rid of enemies. Whilst being a support character, you can't heal others, and you don't have a healing ring yourself (I see meat as a buff, instead of a heal) Also, since I can't play yet, this is nearly all theory.

It's a build I just thought of, feel free to use it. I might be using it myself, infact...

Whenever I post in this topic, my PC starts lagging like crazy, and literally freezes. And it only happens in THIS thread eek hoping it won't happen this time...

edit: Oh hey, it didn't freeze this time biggrin

One-Set Builds

A.K.A. character builds with one set and four other rings. There are none yet, so please feel free to post about some you've been working on!

Oh, so that's what I've been working towards! I didn't know that's what it's called.

Anyway, I have the Chef Set if only for the denfensive boost and to have Teflon Spray, but the other rings I'm looking into are all AoE rings.

Basically, my ring set is going to be the Chef Set plus the following:

Dervish
Fire Rain
Heavy Water Balloon
Fitness

I don't like mobs, but at the same time I like to hit as many enemies and cause as much damage with as little effort as possible. sweatdrop So this is great when Soloing and I find myself in the middle of an Aggro because I killed a buddy. It also helps in Crew settings because, in theory, I can "buff and bump" allies and baddies, which has always been a difficult thing to do in ANY kind of RPG setting.

If anything, I'd like to think that this set is great for a Habachi Cook. Those guys love to cook and show off for a large group of people, and the Habachi Chefs I've had in the past just love to play pranks on me (hence Water Balloon).

Thanks guys! I like the Meatshield one a lot, so I'll be putting that up.

Though I'm currently focusing on dual sets, Hibachi Cook is an intriguing idea - and in a way, all those rings seem to fit. rofl

lol make that 3 now after seeing how the demonic set bonus blows~ I'm switching angelic set for ninja and taking off Iron will and Cat off and switch them for some useful rings...even though Cat is pretty awesome...

Got really tired of watching myself run in circles for my life while Mage could tank right in with the nice dodge T~T ahhh I will miss you demonic/angelic set...<3

Distance Rage Builder...

Shuriken, Guns, Shark Attack, Ghost(could be replaced by any other ring really) + Angelic Set

Doing this I pretty much was at full rage after attacking a monster that conned green to me. Which meant I just did a RR4 Shark Attack to the next monster and if it didn't kill them it almost did. :3

The con is that you go through your Stamina really fast, but you do have divinity so it's not as bad if you keep divinity up.

Shuriken, Guns and Hunter's Bow all have really quick cool downs, which is why it builds the rage so fast.

It's also a great set for Sand Fluffs since they use Quicksand on you. Since all your attacks are ranged it pretty much means you can still hit them even if you are stuck out of close attack range.

FTS, it's Battle
----
The Candy Striper is known to lure little children with its alluring candy shell exterior.
These children are fooled into believing they've found the motherload of candies then
are gobbled up by this vicious carnivorous fish!
HAHAHHAHA! Stupid children...
