Ouch. I don't think that was the intention at all... sad
We'll have to divest you of your zOMG Math Nerd status and pocket scientific calculator. This would have been your thesis.

I assure you this wasn't my intention, nor was "stealing your thunder" - I was simply presenting my own data that I'd worked through shortly after DMS's release, in the hopes that it might assist players differently than the data you were presenting. As I pointed out, your system - being organised around 'snapshots' of a player's rings at a given level - requires a great deal more calculation than I'm willing to suffer through, and is more useful to players who are more focused on the overall CL produced by certain ring combinations (namely, it is vastly more useful when you consider the commonality of ring-switching); my arrangement only directly assists with sets that don't vary, with an eye to explaining how one might make decisions in situations apart from that. I hold that your work is not only distinct from mine, but useful in a number of ways that mine isn't.

If you've lost interest in finishing your work, I suppose that's understandable - but considering how interested you were initially, I would hope you might have retained a portion of that early vigour. I'd be very interested, indeed, in seeing the end results of your data - nice little charts, and everything - and I'm sure there are other individuals similarly interested, as well. It's your choice, of course, but especially if you're as close to finishing as you claim, I wager the closing efforts would be entirely worthwhile... 3nodding
