Granted that the Battle System will revolve around a 2-D world based more along the lines of Towns, it's unlikely that there will be mounts for the game. The closest thing to actual Mounts that might be possible would be Cars (which, consequently, will be used in Towns to drive around). Still, it's more likely either a map feature that allows you to move quickly from one area to another will be implimented, or just plain ol' walking.

Lol. Alot of you have mentioned mounts in Blizzard™ games such as World of Warcraft.
Tigers, elephants, birds, wolves..
Those all are mounts in that game.
Maybe most of you do play WoW.. Lol.
