Secondly, your theory of the null being underwater. The Wish Tree has an answer for that.
The Wish Tree
We...see things. [NO! Not the futures!]Things of water (grey water...) {Blue water!} =MOVING water!= and things below {down below?} (yes, far below!) are the source that caused us (made us) =accidents! afterthoughts!= to come alive.

I haven't re-completed every quest yet so I may be back with more at a later point.

Well, it's not my theory but I think the Tree is referring to the Energy Leak.

Thanks for all these by the way. The C.C. one is interesting. :3

Yes, that does seem the more logical conclusion.

maybe the female goddess gaia is the "deity" that gives you the power to breathe underwater?

This is an interesting idea, except for the fact what gives you your powers is always referred to as the spirits, plural. Plus the fact that the being(s) can only give you power in it's domain, so the water breathing only works in the water around Otami. If this was Gaia, wouldn't it be able to give you powers no matter where you are on the planet?

I won't rule it out as a possibility, but I think more likely than not, these spirits are lesser deities, ones that might even work for Gaia itself.

This has been in my mind for a while O_o..
Since the Labtechs were able to make EB.
Could there have been failed tests to making animated?
Like in this picture:

I see a Resemblance between Gambino and the Null Fluff.
Labtech X
Even so, I was loyal. It was I that saved my father *and* his birth son, Gino. It was I that released the pent up G'hi energy with a timely injection of a critical catalyst.
So since the injection released so much Ghi Energy that the Zurgs notice, maybe the Null fluff was an attempt to creating animated by using that ghi? o:

Oh, why thankyou, although I won't really participate much further on the activities on hand.

I do have one question though. What were the ruins in OA and OR from? It kinda seems like an old coliseum to me. Sorry if this has a blatantly obvious answer, but I can't remember if Agent Caruthers had said anything about it for the life of me. And the symbols in it... (★) Do they vaguely ressemble anything? It could just be a pirate looking-thing, though. gonk

Where I agree the spirits could be lesser beings, Rin and Lin said that by completing the tasks, the goddess would bestow this power to breathe underwater

i need to look back at the quest log to see exactly what they say, but they do mention this goddess often when giving the tasks

Well, I looked back in the transcript, and I found out that Rin said something very interesting:

zOMG Script\

You: So you two just signed me up for some sort of quest to face the challenges of spirits that I never knew existed, for a 'boon' that I never asked for, and now if I don't face that challenge, I'm going to have a GOD angry at me?

Rin: Yes. Although they are merely Spirits of Gaia's elements made manifest...not exactly 'gods' as you barbarians usually refer to them. But that is essentially correct.

Also, Gauntlet and Throne Room are done to please two different spirits. In Gauntlet, you hear a booming voice that calls itself "Chaloc, Master of the Rain and Wind," and when you accept the challenge of Throne Room, Lin says that you are doing this for "Huitzotl, Spirit of the Air and Stone," who just might LOOK like the Giant Stone Coatl, since the boss says he's "like unto a god."

Still, pretty hard evidence that we are not speaking to Gaia itself.

O.O What an eye. I wonder what case that'll be for.

I forgot to say: I'm glad you decided to join us! biggrin The more the merrier. ^ ^

Anyways: Nice catch on the quotes. So do you think they also think Gaia isn't a goddess but actually just a spirit to them? Wait, it says "Spirits of Gaia's Elements" Does this mean, all of them together make up "Gaia"? Or that aside from Gaia, there are also spirits with 1 element of her power.

If it's the first one then I think we may have found the answer to the question: What is Gaia? smile

doomdragon8

Are you sure the map is leaving? I thought they were just clearing out some links there (including the zOMG! banner). That would be horrible....some one get screenies. xD
