...what do you think the average price would be in the marketplace?
On one hand, there are the vets (not really vets, because 10.0s would be excluded from this) who wouldn't want to pay more than a couple gold apiece, but, on the other hand, there are the noobs who would pay probably 70-100 gold per. What do you think?

Closer to 1g than 50g. Rings are rarer drops, but were still very close to being worthless when they were soulbound.

Personally I would just like to trade them to my mules so that i can lvl up my rings without the hassle of basken lake. As for prices, I'd say one gold to twenty gold would be a fair price. I mean, those fracking recipes and ingredients go for pretty good prices and you get them all the time!

Orbs dropping like candy from the animated pinatas. Coupled with players with a huge stockpile and no use for them would drive the prices way down. You could probably get a gross of orbs for 1g with how low the price would be. Not to mention it would open the wound of "buy your way through the game" again, which was the original reason for soulbinding.

I have a feeling newbies would spend good gold on orbs to level up their rings, exactly how much though, I'm unsure.

Unfortunately, that's also the reason why it'll never happen. Selling orbs would be all bad as selling rings.

I think that it would not be such a good idea to sell orbs on marketplace. Noobs would buy it and this sort of means that if you have gold, you can lvl up your rings. It would be better to sell orbs (not on marketplace). This way you can get rid of them if you have too much earning some gold by the way. I guess 1g per orb would be a fair price. cat_biggrin
