I think it is like their null chamber because when we lose our health we go to the null, but we come back, so why can't they?

Then why does KKD make such a big deal about going to the void? Sounds like there is a penalty for them...

Maybe it's like the Animated's null chamber, but they become temporarily unanimated for a certain amount of time before they can go back to where they were.

Animateds have a councienceness, and apparentely, they got it out of thin air, out of nothing. Maybe the void they mention is nothing but that "nothingness" and if they are beaten, they'll cease to have one, hence returning to being nothing.
Void is just a cool way of calling death for them.

Don't think about it too hard, they are just saying void because its cooler than saying "I'M DYING, GODANGIT!!!"

But Goosey says she has returned from the void, therefore animated can come back from it.

I like the un-animated idea, maybe they become inanimate until g'hi mutates them back into animated? I could see any amount of time of seizing to exist being something to shout about xd
