How to deal with lag?

Lately I've been getting insane amounts of lag on zOMG. It's gotten so bad that even while in Deadman's Shadow, it lags while fighting against a few monsters.

I would like to know how do some of you manage with the lag?
What seems to help you the most in getting rid of the lag?

Prepare yourself, the lag threads are coming back.
The servers just cycled yesterday.
There shouldn't be much lag.
Turn off pepper flash(if youre on chrome) while you're playing if you have to. That tends to help me.
Facebook and YouTube and Gaia with meebos going makes it lag a bit as well for me.
