So, I was looking through old Guides, and it turns out that you do get silk from Lanterns. Mystic Weave is what drops from Kokeshi Dolls, and maybe that's what caused the confusion.

The Kokeshi dolls also give Fan Wood and Fan Edges. But when I fought the lanterns, I still didn't get any silk. Maybe I just need to fight them some more.
