I've done half of it, so don't expect a thorough examination.

- It gives Iron will an amazing use, since the sleepers and rooters are everywhere, especially the clams, whom seem to freeze you one after the other.

- It's definitely harder, because of the frequent mobile guards, you can't stay idle for very long before you're attacked.

- Mixing the area definitely gave the entire place a different feeling, more of distress, which maddens crews even more when they're trying to find their way.

- Mobs are frequent, especially since a lot of them actually just ambush you.

They've given the entire place a rework, and it makes buffs and such a priority. Now, SS is definitely for the best of the best, and it gives the Victory badge actual meaning. Yes, I agree, it's hard. But it's supposed to be hard. You're not CL 10.0 for no reason, and it's time to show that you deserve to be one.

But seriously, baawing as if the devs had ruined your entire lives isn't the best way to tackle the situation. You're acting like a child.

thats the thing we knew they werent gonna work, so we did new tactics, we split up, we got back together, etc. even with out new tactics we sucked, badly at it, and we also used new rings n sets but no, failed, and my crew has been at it all day, bout 49 failed attempts, with 1 almost successful but failed at subs
Keep trying. Earn that badge + scarf. >;U


i have the scarf, i just finished selling it to get this avvy, i mainly do SS for EB just so that we can get rings an what not, but we dont just wanna stay at SS we wanna go to the end for EB n just do it again when we beat him, but that's just not happening anymore

trust me i did, will only lasts so long, rock armor, even at full buffs the sprouts n clams can get through them like nothing now like i said, this new SS sucks and thats just it


Iron will runs out, maybe you should, I dunno, RE-USE IT? (Oh god I'm starting to be a b***h in these SS complaining threads DX). Honestly, rr4 rock armor, you now take very little damage. Iron will, you now hardly ever get rooted or put to sleep. rr4 Divinity, you now regen stamina quite fast. Meat, you now have like double your health.

I don't see how that could be too hard with the right buffs.


you named all the rings i used XD, our buffer kept constantly using iron will on us, and i also had it n along with 1 more member, harder to rest and harder to get around, they respawn faster now an catch you by suprise

I've used the same crew members, never failed before, up till today when the updates were placed, we failed miserably, my crew isnt gonna do SS anymore, and this really sucks, i mainly got a load of rings from SS and getting to EB, but yea thts not happeneing anymore (sorry for repeating)

I think come Chapter 4, some of us will be wishing we hadn't cried for Chapter 1 to be a challenge. xd
Eh, I've only tried normal mode. It proved to be quite the challenge. With rock armour, I only managed to take out around 20 animated without dying. Then rock ran out {and my crew was afk... all of them..} and they came rushing in and got picked off one by one.

We only failed because half of us were idle. And yes, most likely. I was fine with the difficulty.
Yes, and you're how much more skilled than the average player?

The difficulty ramp for later ones aside, I cannot help but fear that the average players will be put off by this update. After all, by all accounts they're pretty dim.

With any luck, the ring balance updates will put SS at a level where people can actually play it without devoting hours to learning the game.

There's a reason why Will has such a fast recharge. With rock, they can't.

i was ok with the difficulty as well, we switched from normal to easy (just to see how challenging easy was, lagging messed us up n we well died) so we did it again on easy, just to much action going on and it laggs to much, on normal we get up to bout subs b4 we get lit up n well die, i took out bout 23 or so using dervish, fire rain, heavy waterballoon, n mantis, (used scaredy cat to make em run back which i could heal n buff up by then) n turtle only got me so far

I agree, but will these updates let us go up to higher CL's??
i am not a whiner,i am not a quiter,nor am i a noob,rather i am here to discuss what i and i know other soloers believe to be a legitimate problem with the new shallow seas.if you do not agree with my opinion please do not hate,everyone has stress in their lives and i do not need a random person telling me i am a whiner.i have discovered over the weeks that there are less and less competent people in zomg to crew with,so i have mostly given up the crew tatic and found soloing to be both easier and more pleseant.before this change i was able to solo ss quite easily,it was even relaxing because i did not have to worry about a crew.the changes wrought to shallow seas has made it impossible or nearly impossible to solo ss.the increased enemies not only cause lag,but i have found that they have many negative glitches.to handle the brain clams i would use a combination of duct tape,scardey cat,and long range attacks in the old ss.the new clams either heal when scardey cat has been used on them and they have reached the farest corner the screen will allow,or as soon as the scaredy cat is used and a long range attack is used they will turn around immediently,ignoring the rings effects.also the increased toughness of the enemies,patrolling animated,and the increased lag make soloing shallow seas a stress wracking affair.is this what soloers will always have to deal with?will everyone be forced to crew?

The only problems i found was the lag and well, ummm people doing away from the computer.

you misunderstand, all other threads talk bout whats good bout the new ss and hows its a challenge, im tired of skimming threw to get through the bad ideas an maybe have a share with them, this thread is for what you dont like about the new SS and any ideas an what not, like i said im tired of reading the constant good bout the new SS i wanna throw the bad up into the air so people take notice

Thats pretty much what there trying to do, make it difficult to solo, and the constant spawning again makes it more difficult, there pushing us into having to join a crew, as we sit already even with the old SS there hardly were any crews out there, and when there were crews out there, how many of them were actually good, stable crews? its almost impossible to go through SS n make it past subs now, in the old SS i used to get to EB but had to stop cuz switches wouldnt let me go in,

Not very skilled at all. You should see me, I'm basically just your average button masher on crack. If I feel that the crew is moving too slowly, I feel compelled to run ahead of them and shoot to kill. Which I did.

Sadly. But I see most of the negative responses come from either: It's too hard, oooor.. the crews suck. I'm thinking they should make the mid-levels a tad harder, so that at least we won't have to see horrible CL 10's.

Hopefully. I just think that they should decrease the amount of animated per person and their attack capabilities by 30-60. confused

* It is assumed that you are in a crew of 5-6 players for this adventure series. Getting through the areas with fewer players will be extremely challenging, if not impossible.
Meaaaaaaaaaaaning: YOU'RE NOT. SUPPOSED. TO SOLO. SHALLOW SEAS.

Just be happy you can get through almost everything without having to be in a crew.
But of course, almost is never enough, huh? stare

arent there damage output rediculous? sea sprouts hit immensely higher than before, and i hate the having to choose deifficulty option, it was great before, good amount of drops, n they were scaled to your cl, and i also like to clear the way, i clear the way up to the anchorbugs (on the old ss farther from the seahorse) an now i can prob get past the 3rd screen b4 i get mauled by the scouts n respawns emo
