It sounds a lot more fun now, though realistically there is probably no way for me to beat the endboss playing through the whole way now. My computer could just barely, and I mean barely handle it before. I imagine I would be lagged out with all the additional enemies. =(

I've just been down to SS since the update, and honestly, some of the changes are very pointless. The idea is very nice, and does add a challenge, but some things seem pointless.

The patrols are a good idea, but they cause a lot of lag, due to there being more than just people moving from square to square. I have never had so much lag before. I have also never been killed by a clam before, even with rr4 rock and rr4 iron will. I blame that on lag.

Where the Clam That You Walk Through Then Walk On Top Of bit is, why did they bother adding that little bit so you now have to go around via three screens instead of one to get to the area above that bit? Pointless, I think. With little changes like that, and the general layout of SS, really, there wasn't much point. Quit moving the chests. They were fine where they were. Moving them was just another pointless thing. Chests being in the corners meant that you had to explore the place a bit more.

Respawning causes so much lag when someone has to invite more people. The new crew members end up lagged to death by the time they enter UL.

I couldn't get into UL to check it out as the map timmed out. Then the servers changed. Then I was screwed.

Basically, the idea is nice, but the pointlessness of it and the lag ruin it.

@xChem: You say that RsSpulcher is a sucky player, but that isn't very fair. I have crewed with him before, and apart from a 'little' problem involving the last hit on EB and the Kick button, he is an average player, capable of looking after himself. So instead of calling him a sucky player, call him an inexperienced one or a not-so-brilliant player as yourself.

I personally am not a very good player, despite beating EB 6 times now (pre-update) but I can cope with a few brain clams or a bunch of Coral Fluff or a few spouts. I have even killed robofish using only Guns Guns Guns and RR2 rock armor. Thing is, now, I can no longer play EB for fun, like just to kill a few coral fluffs or to do switch farming due to the large amount of lag and he increased difficulty. Just thought I'd point that out.

So...you dislike the new SS because you fail at zOMG? Its not hard at all... All you need is rock and iron will. Divinity is nice too.

Something I find funny but has anyone noticed that Qixter has never beaten his own game? The badge isn't in his badge list which means Qixter may never have even been in Shallow Seas or EB before.

Kind of curious what his feelings would be if he was, say, on the average joy computer and played threw right now what he'd think.

Point of Note: He hasn't beaten it on the live servers. He's actually played the end game scenario countless hundreds of times.

We killed end boss with four people on normal. The hardest part was the mobs, end boss was okay. All it really is, is all the lagging.

i went to eb today, i stuck around, kept refreshing n what not, the lagging was horrible gonk but i got to eb last nite, and well we beat him, i was in a crew of 3 (me, my sis, n anotha friend) we did eb, onyl cuz when its a full crew, theres more monsters an stuff, an eb with 6 man crew makes it difficult with all the lagging i still think the old SS was wayyyy better, they couldve ust thrown a difficulty switch between hard or extreme, but the scouts an what not, they sucks major azz, and the clams, theres an extreme load of them, an they reallu suck as well =/

An issue I see in having only played EB threw the test server is that, don't know how many testers they got but less people on the server equates to slower overtime lag build up. If the server is outright empty, then the lag build up is slower. If there's more people, the opposite occurs.

So I don't feel the testing on basically a private server is trully valid cause they aren't testing under real server conditions unless, again, they have many testers playing at one time.

mhh they still play the game on live servers and staff server only means that you need to work for gaia to be able to access it .______.

edit: the title of the thread sounds sooooooo disrespectful to everyone who worked on the game during day and night (no, I am not exaggerating) that it just makes me wanna stop posting here....
