Update - March 27, 2010
Well, zOMG has had a couple of big updates. And still nothing was done with the Null Fragments. So I'm gonna bump up my thread and hope whoever is now in charge of zOMG will notice.
Does anyone know who IS in charge of zOMG now?

I'm so sorry to bother all of you about this.
But I haven't played zOMG in forever because of how bad it lagged for me. I ended up only coming in during events.
Recently, I came back to zOMG in search of the new DC and found Gaia has made some pleasant changes.
The best is how we are allowed to change things such as if we see other peoples ring actions or just our own. Thus reducing lag for me. zOMG suddenly is doable for me. Still very laggy. But not near as bad. I no longer become totally frozen.
Well because of this I started getting my zOMG inventory tidied up and found out I can't sell the Null Fragments back to the shops nor trash them. Since we no longer use them for anything, I want to get rid of the 79 I have. Plus the ones on my mules.
EDIT: For those who tell me to trade them, they are Soulbound. So they cannot be traded nor sold on the market. And since you can't use them for recipes anymore, they're basically worthless. And, no, Nicolae no longer trades you for orbs nor rings anymore neither.
How do I get rid of them in my inventory?
I use Windows XP with Firefox 3.0 browser.
EDIT 1: I've tried contacting Qixter. But he doesn't allow pm's nor profile comments. sad So who else can I try contacting about this?
EDIT 2: So we missed out on the opportunity to exchange the Null Fragments for orbs or rings. Here was a good point made about bringing it back to Nicolae's shop...

I imagine the problem was that newbies would talk to Nicu, then go "What's a Null Fragment? This sounds sweet, how do I get some!" then proceed to ask in the forum... and if there's something Regs in a forum can't endure, it's definitely not threads that get asked fifty-thousand times.
But, they could just make it so that Nicu only talks about it if you have frags... couldn't they?
Doesn't that seem like a good idea? If npc's can tell if you're on a quest or not, surely Nicolae can be made to sense if you have Null Fragments and only offer you a trade then. Thus no problem with those who were not around when we use to need them. No pestering the forums then. (Yeah, I get the irony. xd )
EDIT 3:
Doing the math:
When Null Fragments were 25GC apiece.
3000 x 25 = 75000 GC
75000 / 100 = $750
When Null Fragments were 5GC apiece
3000 x 5 = 15000
15000/100 = $150
Either way, those were investments that when to hell.
You know, I totally forgot that they use to be sold for gc in Back Alley. So that's another good point. If cash was used to get Null Fragments then the ability to be recompensed for them should never have been stopped.
People either spent time earning them or else spent real money obtaining them. We need to be able to have something in return for them. I take back the idea of trashing them now. They were an investment.
Getting them was not suppose to be a gamble. It's not like the Lotto or the RIGs where you KNOW you chance not getting something.
EDIT 4: Thanks to Fallen_Real making it into this weeks AtA 11/17/09, we have some pertenent info.
Here's the post... I'll also quote it...(bolding is done by me)
Yeah we planned on having different containers for storage but that plan fell through so we'll probably need to fix that bug for the time being.
We'll be releasing another zOMG update pretty soon to re-balance gameplay, not sure if we're addressing the Null Fragments next week or not. The team as a whole still plans for what to fix and update, and moving fast on getting the changes out.
That's all for this week, thanks for hanging out with us!
Hi again Lanzer and Gaia staff! I have some more questions:
Soulbound items are unable to be put into our “Storage Locker”. Will this nuisance ever be fixed?
Also, will the “Inventory Arranger” and “Sell an Item” page (in the Marketplace) ever be updated?
Lastly, still waiting for word about those Null Fragments and who is the head of “zOMG!" with Qixter’s departure?
I find satisfaction in knowing that Lanzer is aware of the Null Fragment situation. Even if it may not be addressed in the next update. This is the second AtA that he has made a response in regards to them.
Perhaps I'll let this thread rest a bit and see what happens now. If it seems like they go through a couple of updates without doing something about them. Then I'll start bumping again.

Very impractical, is it really that tough to keep the exchange up? Maybe they should have just made this an option for Nicholae's Shop.:c

OMG! My main has over 3,000 Null Fragments & nothing to do with them! If this were a petition, I'd sign it a million times, or at least until we finally got the option to use these damn things back.

I doubt someone spent $150 on frags, but even so a lot of people spent real cash on them to make recipes and now they're useless. I never bought any myself (just earned them in game) but the exchange for orbs/rings shouldn't have been discontinued because there were still people around who DID buy them and now have a useless item for it. Originally I was just for people being able to trash/trade them, but that really sucks for the people that spent their real money on the things. There definitely needs to be a fix here... someone mentioned a context sensitive bit of code that would only make the exchange visible to people with frags (as to not confuse everyone else that's never heard of them), and I think that's a really good idea. biggrin
