From what I know thus far, there will not be specified classes although you can perform different abilities. The rings will give you certain abilities and you can lvl up your ring through the repeated use of that ability. There will be different rings so there will be various positions you can be, but there won't be a class system like that of most MMOs

Even without classes you'd still have player created roles. As they said on the info page they're gonna prevent people from being a jack of all trades so logically it's better to focus most of your attention on one style of game play. =3
