The reason we started to tell people to suicide was in order to let them use r++ attacks and use amps to speed things up. It doesn't really have to do with bat waves, it really depends on how aggressively your crew plays. Either way, it depends on the exact crew, ring-set up, how much they spam chargers, if they're amp'ed, what they use their rage on...

EDIT: also, don't have anyone bring knife and don't carry too many passives as tank. IDK why people do it, it totally goes against the concept of tanking and is pretty tarded. You WANT to get hit.

Recently I've been trying my hand at tanking Bloodlust, and i've done it twice now, but we've had a few wipes due to aggro being stolen at the worst possible time, during batwaves. I'm aware a lot of tanks ask their crew to do suicides before aggro has a chance to get stolen, so I'm asking, when should I ask the crew to politely g on me, kneel, and die. I know there are factors that play in, like how hard the crew is attacking, and how fast she's dying, Any advice on this subject would be nice, so hopefully next time we can go without wiping.

what ive observed when i was with Gloomy is that right when there would be a bat wave we would G on the bu and swtich rings while bu uses diagnose one time then from there continue with attacking the bbs,we did this at every bat wave, and aggro wasnt stolen at all and no suicides were needed at all,it was a smooth BL run.im just letting you know through what ive observed from my observations.i hope this helps smile

Normally if I'm in a crew that has people I don't know so well/I know are inexperienced, I suggest suicides after the 99k wave. If all the DPSers die then, there's no real issues. With people who I know better, normally things just take their own pace. If you're having a fast run, or there's someone who feels they may steal aggro late in the piece, after 42k is a good point to offer, but that's normally only needed if you wipe on a middle wave and have to bring Kam's health back down or if you're really annoyed at the crew and feel as if they should waste more revives.

Not using knife, or only having it for bat-waves and Kam's desperation mode at the end will help the tank generate more aggro, but this may not always be an option (the rare occasion of an integless tank, or someone without major dodge, or if iron is not at 12 for some reason, or Kam is just being a grumpy-pants). You can also get the crew to drop Coyote & get tank to bring Hot Foot- it acts a dodge debuff at higher rage ranks & can be spammed during bat-waves (I've used it to my advantage in a 12-wave recently).

I think the reason aggro was stolen last night like 5 times was because debuffers were overusing adren and knife. Suiciding more than once is unnecessary and a waste of time. The debuffers were just unaware, but overall, great tanking(;

Edit: They should've waited for adren and knife to fall off or when it's about to fall off. When I tank, I always tell the debuffers to wait for them to fall off then redo them. I'm sorry, I didn't mention this when I was there, I just thought you would instruct them as I would. My bad on that part sweatdrop
Don't make me bump my "debuffs do not directly create hate" thread. emotion_donotwant

On topic: whoever steals aggro should suicide. >:/

If you r4 Adren on BL, and do it again as soon as you have the rage, you do end up stealing aggro fast. I've done this before, and realized I was supposed to wait for it to fall off. Also our debuffers also had 4 attacks+ Debuff. And They shouldn't suicide if it's during a batwave, and everyone else should proceed with suiciding as well.
They cause aggro to be stolen indirectly.

Knife reduces the damage the aggro takes (thus the amount of hate the aggro generates by healing). Adrenaline increases DPS, which makes aggro easy to steal.

It has nothing to do with how often it's used, just how often it's active. xd

Btw, not using knife unless it's needed will help you keep aggro. wink

I disagree, aggro gets stolen faster if the adrener r4's adren as soon as they have the rage, instead of waiting for adren to fall, or get close to falling. I know because when I took adren and i r4'd it whenever i could I stole aggro way faster than i'd seen anyone do, and after that I only put it up as soon as it would fall and it took way longer to steal aggro
Well I've directly tested both knife and adrenaline and knife on boot snakes, and they generated exactly 0 additional hate, so unless blood lust has her own aggro system, different than a bootsnake's, then you're simply mistaken. 3nodding

But you can disagree if you want. xd I just hate these rumors flying around. >w<

Yes you want to get hit, i had 3 passives, Fitness, Integ, and SR. Which you need to not get slept. A sleepy tank isn't a good tank.

I did have Hot foot, and I'd asked them to drop coy and they were like "No i want it's luck boost" .. which rather pissed me off. especially since it was my bubu, and that made them be buff mule too since she also has Sh. >-> I don't feel ready to drop knife, even though i do have major dodge, and i have integ as well, I would just like some more experience before I try that. maybe i should have someone bring knife, and tell them not to use it, and see how long i can go without it? in any case, thank you for at least giving me an estimation of when I should have people suicide.

............ How about you actually go test it on BL instead? aggro gets built over time, I don't think you stood there for 30 minutes without the bootsnake dying. I fail to understand how you think a bootsnake would compare with Bloodlust, So go actually test this on Bloodlust, and then come back and tell me your results.

I've tanked it TWICE. I might try having someone have knife and not use it. but it's really quite a waste of time to have to go back to null to revise ring-sets, if it can be avoided it would be preferred.

dude, we were the first crew to kill new Kam and did it in barely an hour. And that was the first time she died, so as good as no experience with the new set-up. Plus your super-safe set up slows things down like crazy! The more aggro the tank builds the more/faster/harder can the DDs hit. If you prevent yourself from getting hit by 2103102 passives and accuracy reductions, logic dictates that, since you heal yourself less and generate less hate the damage dealers can't hit as much (even with suicides) without getting themselves in trouble. Result ---& s**t takes AGES.

also, DDs spamming superchargers = faster run.

It's entirely conceivable that you don't know me or how we played back then, but we were FAMOUS for our no-bullshit, perfectly coordinated fast and efficient (and fun emotion_dealwithit ) runs. (moreso than for being, oh, idk, the first and best at everything dramallama )

No, I do not know you, all I know is what I hear, that You tanked a few times, quit, and now go around in forums acting like you know everything. Times have changed.

I take the same sort of set as Omni and Porno, although they do drop knife, which I don't feel comfortable enough with. As far as I'm aware Omni has the shortest record of beating BL. 23 minutes last I checked. So I think i'd be more willing to take advice from him, who has been doing this since the start, and is STILL doing it, So he knows all the new ways people have thought up, that makes it go faster than "barely an hour."

this SO much. Picture it like a buff that you're using although the group already has it - it won't generate rage, it won't generate ANYTHING (other than -stamina).
