Isn't it cool to learn that Kamehameha was Hawai'is king?
And there's a question for the English majors among us (a rather exclusive club of whom I am not a member). Given that it's becoming preferred to spell Hawai'i with the apostrophe, what is the correct spelling of the possessive form? Is it Hawai'is - as you've used - or maybe Hawai'i's with two apostrophes, or something even more bizarre?
Or maybe since Hawai'i is not an English spelling but a Hawai'ian spelling, we should ignore the English rules and use the Hawai'ian rules? How do you form a possessive in the Hawai'ian language?
I never seen Hawaiian in possessive at least for me. So I can't really make any assumption.
The thing people get mixed up a lot is that they think anyone from Hawai'i is Hawaiian. That is totally wrong and a Hawaiian is more so, rare from all the cultural diffusion.I am an example of that.
But for now, I think
I used to study Hawaiian but it has been a while. And by a while I mean a few years.
Edit: Sorry for my bad English, typing with lag cuts me off at weird places. And I forgot what I was supposed to type.
