My entire idea is about fixing the Ghi system. You wanted specialization which is supposed to be in the ring system. Changing the Ghi system into something where you only get three attributes to raise is akin to a class system is opposed to the ring system where you can be anything at anytime. Specialization was your big deal whereas I simply want to update the Ghi system. Your specialization system would gimp the Ghi system, something I don't want to do.

So yes, your idea is basically to turn Ghi into "A couple free passive ring slots" which would gimp Ghi and ******** with the ring system simultaneously.

Perhaps skills could be added later to augment the Ghi idea I have such as special effects and whatnot, but that should still be accessible to all characters instead of forcing people to equip skills, which is against the entire premise of my passive skill idea in the first place.

For your "Cookie Cutter" concern to happen, they would have to max all skills and use the same rings. The skills would represent an investment, one that you can choose to specialize in. However once you get past your goal, you can keep going and get the rest. Variety comes from ring use, primary skill goals, and simple panache'...

Augmenting?! I'd want to get splash damage. Hack with splash, ggguns with splash, Heck, even waterbaloon with more splash! O and poison, can't forget a healthy dose of poison. Is there even a ring in this game that does poison damage?
     
No poison rings yet but my Mutant set idea would have it. :/

Actually if we get the basic skills normalized and properly integrated, special skills for status effects might be available though they would need to be limited to having only one or two equipped at a time.

Val's idea of specialization could come in there.
     
mmm how about aside from the normal boost you level they add an extra replaceable boost it could be altering your stats or adding extra powers to attack rings or adding special defense effects to your self like deflection , reflection or P.A.

the rest of the buffs would stay in default except for the last one
 
     
 
Well the base Ghi replacement of stats I want to keep but I am open to the idea of being able to buy special skills that work as specializations.

So perhaps a Mega stat boost that you can select as one of your specialization. Going with Val's idea, three slots for specialization beyond the basic skills/stat improvements. So everybody will have all the weak through Major stat boosts but to get something more, you need to equip up to three special skills to get beyond.

So everybody will get major accuracy with enough orb spending and have it going all the time. However, there will be special skills that everybody can buy but you can only have three special skills active at any one time.

You could have a Defense, Poison, and Accuracy special skill active for one session of play (on top of normal skill bonuses) then next session have special Willpower, Dodge, and Sleep going.

god i love it wen people cant find a solution for simple thing and they take stupid drastic measures that Just end up ******** things up don't you ?

I really like this , it would also give people something to do with the extra orbs LOL ,
but maybe the special effects could also include a faster stamina regain. because I know that can be very useful haha.
     
A lot of improvements could be bought but obviously we don't want to completely overpower the rings. So stamina regen could be nice, perhaps another notch or so per level of the skills. Then Fitness and Divinity would be even more epic for stacking up.

yep, I think those extra things shouldn't be too much, but just enough to make a good difference :3
Like maybe one of them being, having a higher chance a de-buff would work. :3

Same here, although for now, I'd b e content with the buffs,de-buffs, ring stuff being pretty balanced out haha, the rest can wait lol! but it doesn't mean we can't dream/suggest the awesome things like that ;D

What is frustrating is that I would love to discuss ring suggestions but that ends up being a bunch of dream sets which only feels like a pointless exercise that everybody is doing.
