Hello zOMGaians,

We have updated the game with these features:

The Shadow orb (new orbs required to upgrade your rings beyond level 10) have been added in various UI elements. Note: the Shadow Orbs are currently unavailable in zOMG!, but will be added when the new area, Deadman's Shadow is released.

Shadow Orbs will be visible in:

• The title bar of the view portal
• Upgrade costs
• Salvage results
• Removed "Total Orbs" since you can see those in the title bar
• Changed "Overall CL" to "My Level"

The Reflect mechanic has changed to the following:

• The damage done by reflect now scales according to the level difference, much like other attack rings
• The damage done by reflect (before scaling) is capped at a random amount between 9 and 14 times the level of the player wearing reflect
• Knockback is also reflected if a knockback attack is successfully reflected.

what are the shadow orbs for?? are you going to tell us or is it one of those "wait and see" moments???



They are for upgrading your rings 10 CL+ and they help u become stronger and higher CL (above 10.0 obviously razz blaugh blaugh blaugh

ok then, what about the people whos' cl's are already over 10??? also, when is DMS coming out???

A few questions on the orbs as well.

One shadow orb will presumably count as one regular orb in total charge, correct?
Can you use shadow orbs to upgrade rings less than CL 10.0? If so, will there be a method to choose which orbs you are using?
Will enemies in Deadman's Shadow drop only Shadow Orbs, or will they drop both?
Shadow Orbs is a name seemingly chosen to specifically refer to Deadman's Shadow. When we get another new area are you planning on adding another orb type that will allow to upgrade even higher, or will that area also drop Shadow Orbs and the level you can get from Shadow Orbs be raised? The first approach seems impractical, since you'd end up with over 10 different orb types after you get to making 10+ new areas (which of course will eventually happen <3).

*one more thing*
Currently CL 10.0 rings say that it takes 10 Charge Orbs to upgrade 0.1 CL. Will that be transferred into 10 Shadow Orbs, or will it take less since it's a new orb type and is changing the dynamics of upgrading rings.?

People that are over CL10.0 currently are at that CL because they have obtained glitched rings from SS/EB. These rings will be deleted/lowered once the new area comes out, and as such the only way to be over CL 10.0 will be to upgrade with Shadow Orbs.

To make sure I'm reading this right, you're saying that if you are CL10.0 the maximum reflect damage is 90-140, correct?


That's correct. Just think of it as if you are now dealing the damage to the mobs... not the mobs hitting itself. The damage output is also relative to the con level of the monster. So, if the mob is red to you, you'll also deal less damage to it.

based off of this, reflect damage would be 80-130 if your cl is 9.0. correct???

While both should have similar results, we have a contradiction. Who's right?

And if swarf is, does base health include Sweetheart, Meat, or Ghi bonuses?

does the cap combine the rings or does each ring have its own reflect pool thus dishes out its own damage and isnt combined with the other rings that give a reflect effect?

Also it's good to see that the glitched rings will FINALLY be taken care of,its about damn time..

you use rr4 teflon and its effect is useless and so is the ring because sphere is already giving you what teflon does because your reflect effect hit cap.

This is exciting and depressing at the same time. It's good that now we can get our rings above CL 10 with these shadow orbs but depressing because you realize all the time you spent ring farming was wasted time. Since we now have shadow orbs, countless hours have been wasted trying to get a glitch ring. Hard work has been wasted.

Yeah, reflection won't be nearly as useful as it was. That was the satisfying part about reflecting: seeing some hard-hitting Animated getting what it deserved for hitting so hard. Eye for an eye.

However, regarding Teflon: while the reflect has been nerfed big time, its ability to reduce damage should still be intact. So yeah, if we're using Teflon or Sphere, we're now going for their defensive ability.

* edit * - Actually, reflection could still has some use. While the enemy may not receive nearly as much damage back, would we rather have some hard-hitting Animated dealing huge damage, or would we rather not receive any damage, and still have at least some kind of reflection?

having a full team with all of the buffs and keeping them all at rr4 seems to lose its point now with only one reflect effect ring being useful in that area..honestly i think this is going to be a horrible idea,and the reflect decreases even more now when we go against EB since reflect decreases when they are red borderd*head desks* i hope this wont be like when it was auto regenerating it's health so fast that no one could kill it unless they put over 5 hours into "trying"to kill it since our reflect damage plays a huge part in fighting EB.

conclusion:
a team no longer needs any reflect rings except for one because anymore would be utterly pointless.
also,isnt the new dmp area not due for like..a couple months?

a glitched ring is a glitched ring and the dev's should have fixed the glitched problems at least in the first MONTH they started,not after that.
balance in zomg is what they are trying to give(gold cap,boss area cap,ring cap,level cap,now a reflect cap) to the users so we are on equal grounds,but how the hell is that possible when they let cl 20 or whatever users run around in the game when it's a glitch the dev's let run around for to long without doing anything about it.



i was reading some time ago that JK was asking the users to salvage any glitched rings they found,so its the users own fault that there"hard earned"rings are going to be removed,they were told not to use them and to get rid of them.
