--If you have donated and do not see your name listed below, please let me know right away. We lost a list during the Mysterious Missing Posts Crisis a while back.

--Benefactors are those willing to donate enough gold and/or items to supply awards valued at more than a first prize. In our case that would be 25K gold or more, or expensive items, usually catagory-specific [such as Nitemare, Angelic, letters, etc.]. Our goal for future first prizes is 50K gold or themed items.

--Donators are those who contribute gold and/or items to be used at the Foundation Staff's discretion as prizes and awards.

--Sponsors are those who donate to any Contest in terms of a prize or award of their choice [1st, 2nd, 3th, or Honourable Mention].

--Please consider sharing your wealth and support. Message Mahayr if you would like personal references.

As promised, we have decided to do what we can to help other Writing Contests to get and stay on their collective feet! We may have to start out small, but as we grow, our ability to help others will grow.

Writing Contest Charity Application


So you would like a litle help from your friends to support your own writing contest? Let us see what we can do for you. Please complete the following form and we will visit your Contest Thread before making a decision and possible donation.

[ Must Read | RULES | Follow Directions ]


1. Contest must be on-going or you must have sponsored past Contest(s).

2. Contest must specify minimum entries to be recieved and that minimum may be no less than 15.

3. Contest must specify start and end dates. Delays must be clearly stated.

4. Contest must state name of judge(s).

5. Contest must state how many prizes are to be awarded and what those prizes will be.

6. Contestants must post their submissions in the thread and not via PM.

7. Contest Owner must submit one (1) personal reference. Both the Contest Owner and the Reference will be investigated for length of time on Gaia, posting numbers, and posts content.

8. Contest Owner will complete our application correctly the first time. If you can not read and follow directions, or are too lazy to do so, you have no business hosting a Writing Contest.

9. Direct any questions to Mahayr via PM. If you have unusual circumstances or need any adjustments to these rules, please let us know and we will give them all due consideration.

10. Copy the following application and paste (after completing the required information) in this thread. We will respond as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.

Please visit the Guild when you have the time... again, I am trying to move forward. Ha.

We have a new secretary, Seraphly! We will keep you all informed in the Guild.

Also, Nerd-Chan will be acting as assistant to the secretary.

Currently we are involved, thanks to Kiria, Pixie, Lady_Byzantine, and a few others, in an event that will help us to receive a few funds! And every little bit helps, as you all know.

GrantOrg and Lord Shishio Dedications.

GrantOrg, first opened on Mar 21, 2004, was a unique and valuable asset to the Writing Contests sub-forum.

Dedicated to awarding Grants to Contest Hosts and hosting their own, GrantOrg served the Gaian community for over a year. When we found ourselves in a position to continue what they had started, we got in touch with various people who helped us greatly along. clarion, Bane is on Fire, Have Your Pi, and Penden to name a few.

The GrantOrg Staff included:

GrantOrg was generous, helpful, and a great support to the community. They will never be forgotten. Many of us remember them well, and miss them sorely. They live on here, through us.

We hold their trust dear, and dedicate ourselves to carrying their torch for as long as it may burn!

Lord Shishio was an avid supporter of GrantOrg, and then the WW&CCF. Not only was he generous, he was there for support and encouragement when we needed him the most. Always in good spirits, always a pleasure, and always free with advice, and donations, he became a friend so easily... and died too soon. We mourn his loss to this day... and always will.

Not only did he donate, advise, comfort, support, and encourage us along our first tenuous months, he promotoed our cause and generated many other donations and put us in touch with many friends and resources.
