Darkness once surrounded me

Death always waited

Waited by that tree

The tree where happiness was once created

But I was foolish and would disagree

With the one I had dated

And that is why Death waited

This was written back in 2010, when the human population was still 6.7 billion. Now it's 7.1 billion. :]

Things don't always go as we liked them to
Sometimes
They're just out of control

There will be times when I'm having mood swings
Or stressed out and tired

There will be times when
I'll stay up all night
Unable to sleep

There will be times when
So much needs to be done
And I'm racing with time

There will be times when
I feel I'm stupid
When I fail math

There will be times
When smiling hurts from inside
And you'll never get what I feel

There will be times when
I'm still hanging on
But not going on

I might be forgetful most of the times
But I promise
I'd always try to remember

I'd remember
The way you smiled, laughed, slapped my back
And the wrinkles on your face
That made you look so old

I'd remember
Your silly expressions whenever you got mad at me
Or maybe you were just unsuccessfully
Pretending

I'd remember
Our first fight on paper
It was a silly misunderstanding
All because you got jealous

I'd remember
Those sweet memories
And also the not so sweet ones
All of them

I'd remember
Your once in a blue moon phone calls
That always got me worked up and excited

I'd remember
Your shadow and mine
Walking alongside each other

I'd remember
You once told me

"You're one in 6.7 billion."
"You're different, you're special."
"I love you."

And then I'd smile
And life would be okay again.

As my bones shiver from the cold nights breeze
You held me and filled my heart with ardent
Passionate lips I live for to please
Their dreadful eyes are filled with resentment;
Nights go by where I cry myself to sleep
Shaking as I went through all the wrongs
Carrying my fears as as I weep
With burdens of they who I live amongst;
My love do not leave me for I am weak
Of those who torment my mind night and day
I admit my love, I lack what you seek
with much agony my heart will decay;
So hold me darling and be here with me
Let us leave them now and let us be free

This one is mine, and it's titled "A Different Story"

Perhaps there is nothing so perfect as a blank page.
Or so decrepit as a broken bouquet of flowers.
Winter is a cascade of icy love on the lumpy hills,
And summer a cruel crack of the whip on the back of the earth.
The sky is a canvas of a chemical cesspool,
And the dirt an incubator for all kinds of filth.
The pond gathers the compost of the forest,
And painfully gives birth to a pure white lotus.
And on its petals are a thousand grievances
Against the brutality of violence and stillness,
Which can only be read by a butterfly in metamorphosis.
The ground folds into itself, and recycles her flesh.
And we take flight on clouds of sweat and dreams.
They pour out of the 21st century smokestack lighthouses,
And from our mouths where it all floats up to create the rain;
Which feeds our crops which feed our bodies which feed our mind.
Our world wraps itself around our hands, slipping through our
Fingers like nimble bits of pale golden sand coated in dew.
We cannot grasp it on our own, it chooses to stay with us.
