![]() Imagine a gameshow where all of sudden, a Price is Right gimmick changes to Wheel of Fortune. Where 10,000$ Pyramid decides to stop guessing words to instead answering questions for a million. Where not only the game is on the line, but you are too. Welcome to the first official Sky-Donation Invitation. Back in the past, at times I would give out random donations to people just for fun since the spacemoneys didn't matter that much. But, now they have a purpose. After much consideration and thinking on the subject, I decided to create this contest. Call it a monster if you will. One that will slowly evolve and grow and change. Out of all these contests which permit to just one set of rules, this one will span over many. They are picked randomly by an algorithm which will then logically fix itself for the next phase of the game. These rules can mean anything, from changing the judge, to changing how many winner places there are, to even forced disqualification! But, it's safe to say that all of this will only revolve around poetry. Beware, even great poets can fall by this monster while an amateur steals the show. And, so far this is where we stand: Three winners. 120k. (or more) 1st: 50k 2nd: 40k 3rd: 30k Rules change all the time. Gotta be prepared for the worst... Alright, the third phase! As you can tell from rereading the first part, we now have three winners possible instead of only one! (The algorithm must be keen to threes...) Adding the fact that we will have a new rule stater and an open invitation means we've still got a long ways to go! So, here are the new rules... THESE RULES ARE INDEPENDENT OF THE RULES USED IN PREVIOUS ROUNDS. WHEN A NEW ROUND STARTS, THAT MEANS THE RULES MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT CHANGE. IT IS AN EVOLUTIONARY PROCESS. "OPEN INVITATION" MEANS THAT YOU, (THAT'S RIGHT, YOU GAIAN WHO DECIDED TO LOOK HERE) CAN ENTER IN AN ENTRY. UNLESS THE RULES STATE OTHERWISE, YOU CAN STILL ENTER INTO THE CONTEST. 1. Contestants can post only one poem for each part of the contest. Post it in this thread. PMed poems will not be accepted. Also, open invitation rules still apply, so anyone can still enter in. 2. The Judge Variable: Contestants and any wandering passerby now have the chance to change just who does the judging! Anyone interested will vote on the newly created poll. The choices you have of a possible judge will be me (of course) and the three contestants who have moved on from Phase 2. (although contest runner will always be my job.) Know this: If one of you winners from Phase 2 get chosen, your entry(ies) automatically moves on to the next phase, no strings attached. If you have to judge for the next round, might as well deserve the right to move on with it! 3. After a set amount of days, hours, minutes, etc, a LOCKDOWN will be initiated. When that happens, the invitation will be closed temporarily so I can start shooting down all those pretty poems. Only twenty will survive to the next phase of the game, in which new rules/factoids will be instated and some old ones become obsolete. (That is, if twenty are even entered.) 4. There is no fee for this contest. 5. Image Restriction: The main theme for the imagery for this round must be nature based. -Rule by Vespertine 6. Rule Change: The deadline for this round will be September 21st. Get them in fast! 7. If you want to donate to this contest, you can. Just PM me about it or send/whatever. Just make sure it says "contest" in it so I'll know where it goes. Also, your name will get put up with a lot of hearts on it, so if you like that sort of smothering, go ahead. 8. We will now have a rule stater. A Rule Stater has the power to create one of the rules that will be used in the upcoming phase. If you are the rule stater, please PM me your rule that will be used. Your name will be put by it so everyone knows that you made it and not me. Also, keep this in mind when making a rule, the algorithm cannot handle infinite loop data so well. So, don’t think you can be sly and create a rule that makes you win the whole contest, that creates too many loose ends and the algorithm does not like loose ends. So, make sure your rule stays within realistic boundaries that are part of this contest. But, you can eliminate specific people from being qualified for the contest, and/or any other malicious thing that you might want to do, so think about it. 9. Poems cannot exceed more than thirty lines. 10. There can only be 10 rules for this round of the contest. Here is the the theme and/or forms being used (if it says "no form" and "no theme", that means it's anything goes.): No Form No Theme (But imagery is nature based) UPDATE: Okay, I'm tired of waiting and I bet all of you contestants are as well. Something in this contest is definitely giving bad vibes or else people would be entering in more. So, since I am the contest runner, I am going to change one of the rules that the algorithm didn't want you to have: there will be a deadline. Poor Knight is having to wait for all of this so I'm not going to keep him waiting anymore. The deadline will be the 21st of September. If you don't have anything in by then, TOUGH. If there is nothing in by then, then the contestants who have entered will be the only ones judged. Now, that doesn't mean this contest is going to be ending after the third round. No way. Instead... there will be one more round for this invitation. I'm not going to be using the algorithum for this one either. Instead, it will be a closed invitation and only three poets will be competing against each other for whatever prizes I decide to choose. I will be judging this one all on my own. If you think it won't be tough, you're sadly mistaken. I'm talking about big cash here folks, so don't expect something small to win. I will go into more details on the final round when it has been reached. Until then... you're left with this. Returning back to this round, I am adding in a word limit for the entries. Your poem cannot exceed thirty lines. If it does you do not qualify. I am also removing the "theme". Instead, this round will now be a free-for-all, but Vespertine's rule still stands. So, it must revolve around "nature" imagery. ![]() It's LOCKDOWN! You all know what that means. Your fate is in the hands of Knight's noble judging and since he's been chosen as judge... his piece automatically moves on to the next round. So, that leaves only two available slots. Who will move on? Stay tuned... If you have any questions, PM me. |
