You might be wondering what "creepypasta" is.

Creepypasta are essentially internet horror stories, passed around on forums and other sites to disturb and frighten readers. The name "Creepypasta" comes from the word "copypasta", an internet slang term for a block of text that gets copied and pasted over and over again from website to website. Creepypastas are sometimes supplemented with pictures, audio and/or video footage related to the story, typically with gory, distorted, or otherwise shocking content.

Creepypasta varies greatly in length and quality, though many of them follow a few set formulas:

✄ Anecdotes. The narrator remarks on a scary legend, news story, or event from their own past.

✄ Rituals. A list of instructions for the reader, claiming that if they go to a certain place at a certain time, and perform specific actions, something remarkable and/or horrifying will happen.

✄ The Lost Episode. The narrator tells the story of a never-before-seen episode or scene from a famous TV show, typically a comedy or children's cartoon, where the audio and video is heavily distorted and characters begin acting strangely or violently, killing themselves and/or each other.

✄ The Haunted Video Game. A popular Genre where the narrator tells the story of a creepy video game they played that had very haunting effects such as death, disease, and or sadness. Sometimes a fake video game is told, sometimes an already made video game is used.

✄ Your story can be as gory as you want but if the story breaks the TOS you must post it offsite such as Deviant Art or some other media site.

✄ You are required to PM your entry to me, but in addition you may post it in the thread for others to see.

These are things you should keep in mind:

✄ The goal of this contest is to write the best horror story, look at other creepypasta's for inspiration and use the this to your advantage.

✄ You are allowed to include pictures/thumbnails to your writing but no more than 5 pictures per story.

✄ You are allowed to base your creepy-pasta off of a video game/tv show/movie/etc. but the only way you may do this is if you are making a "secret level", "lost episode", "deleted scenes" pasta.

✄ You are allowed to have our story in the form of a youtube video if you please but you MUST include a transcript along with your entry.
