Radia-17 is completed!!!!! Yeah!
Just for the fun:
Challenge thread started on 12/12/11, when I posted the first seven prompts. Finished 3/27/12, so that's about three and a half months in-between all my other writing (which is enough to be considered a full-time job and then some...)
Work was started in a Word document, changed to a Word '97 early on so I could do work on another computer too, and then changed a OpenOffice document recently due to computer issues and finished like that
xp
Word count including all the prompts: 121,759
Pages: 232
Posts it took to put into a Gaia thread: 26
Stuff that is 'new' to the world: A lot! I started with my NaNoWriMo '11 project, but ended up pulling in three other incomplete projects into Radia-17. Stuff that is entirely new in this challenge includes vampires (classic, not modern), the whiskets, and a town called Drenched Goat (seriously, I have to use that as a setting some time). And it may not be obvious, but a fair number of prompts actually go towards explaining the powers, motivation, and history behind one character, the main character of the NaNo story.
Any advice for others doing this challenge... I still have to go with pointing out History: The Past as the most tedious section due to the amount of timelines it requires. You could make it easier on yourself by doing the timelines in conjecture with sections the timeline applies to. For instance, the cultural-art timeline would do great with the Culture: Art section. Also, when you're stuck, search around and find related prompts for some points to work from. Don't copy and paste a section (obviously), but something that got a few words of mention in one prompt may fully answer another prompt if expanded.
Now I'm gonna take a break. maybe finally start up FFXII.
